We Got Rain!!!

Yes, we finally got some rain here! And the electricity got knocked out for a couple of hours.
About 5:30 the rain started and ended up being a nice medium to heavy rain for about an hour. The garden sure did need it!
Tomorrow morning you won't be able to tell it rained. That is how dry it is/was here. I am hoping this was enough to not have a burn ban put out in our parish. They have been issued in several parishes in Louisiana and several counties in Mississippi.
Electricity came back on around 7:30, but I had laid down to rest since there wasn't much else to do in a dark house. I napped until almost 10 pm. And that reminds me that the dog needs to be fed! Going to get that done before I forget!
Did you get rain today? Hopefully not, if you are in one of the areas experiencing flooding. Otherwise, I hope you did.

OH yes we had rain today and it was really pouring hard but it wasn't the whole day though. Fortunately.

@kareng The National Capital Region is suffering from the flooding and other regions too.
We are fortunate that we don't suffer from that frequently.

Glad you finally got some rain! It sounds like your garden must have been desperate for it. An hour of decent rain is certainly better than nothing, although it's amazing how quickly very dry ground can soak it all up. ?? Losing electricity isn't much fun, but at least you managed to turn it into an opportunity for a good nap! We've been getting plenty of rain here lately, so I'd happily send some your way if I could.

Sorry your electricity got knocked out, especially given how hot it is when it’s not raining. We’re a couple of inches above normal for the year in rainfall, which is unusual because this is “dry time” AND we started the year in a drought. Thankfully, here in Louisville we haven’t had flooding, but just north of us in Indiana they’ve had some horrible flooding…one town said it was the highest crest of the river since the “Great Flood of 1913.”

It poured here around 6pm with thunder and lightening in the distance. It lasted for about half an hour and then it all cleared up. I'm sure the plants and grass were happy with the rain and I'm grateful it wasn't a bad storm causing any power outages or flooding.
