B12 Shots

I’m always trying to find (legal) ways to feel better, and I wondered how many of you ever tried B12 shots. My sister has pernicious anemia, so she actually has a prescription for B12 once a month, but the shots I’m talking about aren’t prescription. Does anyone have any idea if that works for energy? Did it work for you?

Didn’t we talk about this a couple months ago!? I can’t remember. lol. I had them for a couple years and they were okay. But there are other better alternatives that did more to and or for me.

My aunt swore by B-12 shots. She said they really helped her.

Back in my younger days I had to go monthly for B12 shots mostly because I had low blood pressure. I remember them really helping. I'm not really sure what shots you're talking about if they aren't prescription,

You can be trained to get Vitamin B12 shots and not be a doctor. It’s funny, I have low blood pressure, and I’ve passed out before, but no one ever mentioned B22,shots.

@Marilynda1225 Years ago, they tried to get me into the Mayo Clinic, but insurance wouldn’t pay for it. I often wonder if they had sent me would my health problems be clearer. Would I still be looking for explanations as to why I have no energy?

@AmbiePam I wonder if your low blood pressure has anything to do with your lack of energy. I was in my 30s when I got those shots and they did help tremendously. Probably back then you had to go to the doctor for them to be administered,

I’ve never had the shots, but I have taken vitamins before. They did seem to help me (not to mention giving me some bright urine! ). I pray you can find something. Call and ask the doctor’s office! All they can do is tell you no.

My mom had to get them too. She didn’t have what my sister had, but she had low levels that she couldn’t fix just through diet.

@AmbiePam I just take the supplements. I'm not into shots, but I had to drop the B12, it was too much with the B Complex.

D3 is also a great help with energy boosting. I've had prescription doses in the past, but take over the counter now.

Not specially for energy. I hope whatever you decide to do you clear with your doctor. I did take some one time as part of a weight loss program.

Oh, definitely. This doctor is a stickler. I run even the smallest thing by her.

Ask your Doctor there might be vitamins you can take to help with energy.

I had B12 shots when I was a kid because of anemia. The prescription shots worked, I have no idea if no prescription would work.

I'm no expert. But in theory vitamin B is necessary to build hemoglobin which is the molecule on red blood cells that "holds" onto the O2. Oxygen is used to burn nutrients for energy so more oxygen should provide more energy. Like I said I'm no expert though. I'm having blood issues myself I added a blood-boosting supplement. Interestingly no vitamin B involved unless folic acid is one. Has vitamin B2 as well as Vitamin C. The other ingredients are minimal. I don't know. I'm no expert. I like to think I know a bit more than others when it comes to science but I've never claimed to know it all.

I definitely value your opinion. You mention folic acid and that reminds me me of a doctor I used to have giving me samples of prescription vitamins that had folic acid. The samples worked great, but insurance wouldn’t pay for it.

I had never taken B12 shots. Instead I had taken B12 capsules. In fact, my younger sister had insisted me to do so. I took the capsules for twenty days.
