For the first time this month

Today is the first time this month I have taken Bob somewhere in the car and he has not gone limp on the ground requiring the ambulance to come.
The cardiologist sent out two new prescriptions late yesterday afternoon. No one delivers to my little town. I was stress about needing to get them.
My plan was to get up very early and drive the 30 minutes to get them. I told Bob I would be gone while he was asleep. We have done this before.
Well, evidently Bob knew I was upset about this. He got up and got dressed at 11:40 p.m. He kept trying to go outside. We wandered the house in the dark for three full hours before laying back down.
I got up after seven, and Bob came out, ready to go shortly thereafter. I had him have a snack, and some coffee, then told him he would have to get in and out of the van without the EMT's.
It was a cool morning, so we went to the store and then fueled the van for our trip Monday. I took V8 for us both.
We finished our trip, got back home, and Bob got out carefully, then using the handrails walked back into the house on his own. I offered the wheelchair, but he did not want it. He went to the bathroom and then to bed for a nap.
I was so relieved. I think the different seats in the van and the cooler weather helped. The EMT's had commented that every time they checked him his blood pressure had fallen very low.
Another hurdle down. He is so fun when he is in a good mood.

Just now
I’m so thankful that he was able to get around without the assistance today. I’m sure he’s pretty happy about it, too!

That's great news! I know traveling with a loved one can be hard when they require a lot of help, but I think it's great he did so well. That was a work out for him and he passed with flying colors. It's the little things that remind us our loved ones are still going strong.

Glad you had a nice trip. The weather could be some of the problem in the past

Awesome and well done Bob, and you of course
Good that he didn't want the wheelchair
He seems to be doing quite a lot for himself which is very good

Glad you got done what you needed to do without too many problems. Is Monday the day he goes to the VA facility?

I am glad you didn't have to resort to calling EMT's. I know you really can't leave him home by himself.
I can't imagine what all is going on in your head, and how much it is hurting to know he isn't well enough anymore to stay home. You can't lift him, I totally get that. My heart and prayers are with you, Heather.
