I honestly believe Bob is looking forward to moving as a new adventure. I will not be bossing him around and fussing at him. I honestly do sometimes yell. I can be so good to someone with dementia, until that someone is my husband and I cannot understand why he cannot understand. He is sleeping. When he gets up a little later I will give him a hearty meal, and hope it is enough for the night. On these new meds he has been up every night and demanding food, especially peanut butter. He packed a jar of peanut butter into his shaving kit. He will be safer. Not so crowded. Not as likely to hurt himself. Not having to share blankets with his wife. Not prone to open the doors in the middle of the night. I will be gone most of the day tomorrow. I have to buy him a television and a recliner, and maybe a night stand for his room and have them delivered to the nursing home, after the care plan meeting. I will not make pay out, that is for sure. It really does not matter if I do.

I think it must be hard to have lived with someone so long and then have them break down infront of your very eyes. I have had a couple of people of whom I had been very close to be ridden with the disease and not know me when I came to visit them. It's heartbreaking. You are a fine woman and want the very best for Bob. How sad to see him this way. Tomorrow is a big day for both of you.

I hope everything will go well for you. Will you be ok when you're alone?

This will be a huge change for both of you. As you said, he will be safer. If he does fall down, there will be people there to help him up and assess him. There comes a time that we can't safely lift people. You are doing the best you can do...it will be hard, I know. Prayers that it all goes well and that he adjusts to his new environment. And that you won't be lonely.
