More Bad News From The Doctor

I'm at my wits end.
I went to the dermatologist on Tuesday because I thought I had that "terra firrma" stuff on my legs again. It's a weird dead cell thing that discolors your legs and make them look dirty. It's not dirt. It's not a hygiene issue. But it's supposed to wipe off with rubbing alcohol and mine wasn't rubbing off.
She said it wasn't terra firma.
First, she told me that both my legs are swollen. Then she said it's venous insufficiency - a vascular problem, where the blood is leaking through the veins and creating rust-colored spots on my legs. No, it's not varicose veins. She told me to wear compression socks at all times when I wasn't sleeping.
Sigh.
In 2-3 weeks I'm due to see my regular doctor. I will ask her about it then and whether or not she will refer me to a vascular doctor is anyone's guess.
Can somebody just shoot me now and get this over with?

Definitely not what you wanted to hear. Hope the compression socks help. My friend has to wear them and she says they do make a big difference.

I found compression socks to be helpful when I worked. I would like to wear them now, but it is too dang hot and I barely feel like I have time to dress myself without extra long socks. As a positive I will say you can get some really cute ones online.

Isn’t that a symptom of an old DVT (blood clot)? Did you get the results of that ultrasound?
