They finally did it!!!

My daughter and her high school sweetheart got married a week ago. They've been together 16 years, engaged for 8. My daughter made all the wedding arrangments. She was fortunate to find a place (garden wedding, barn reception) that did all the work including decor and charged her one fee that included the photographer, bar, dj, caterers, etc. There were so many special moments. But the biggest surprise of all was my daughter stepdancing with her father. My husband has been a champion stepdancer since his teens. He spent the last 8 months (at least twice a week) teaching her to step dance. She matched him step for step - actually he stumbled once - and the Maritimers in our family were dumbfounded. So many asked me if I knew. I was not told but when dance practice goes on for that many months I finally figured it out. I gave a nice speech (didn't let my husband speak, he got enough attention), as did my younger daughter, the maid of honour. Who knows, she may have a wedding coming up in the not too distant future. (Michael, put a ring on it!) We don't have many pictures. We have to wait for the photographer's pics. Who knows how long that will take? There are some videos on my YouTube channel if you want to check them out. (More on Instagram though). She wanted a fall wedding and even though it was August, it was a perfect fall day. Grandbabies soon?

16 years together and 8 months of secret step dance practice, that is the sweetest thing, no wonder everyone was floored. sounds like a perfect day even if it wasnt technically fall yet. and Michael better be paying attention

I'm sure Michael realized that he is very much a part of our family and will make it official within the next year.

Yes, she was positively stunning. I've never seen wedding videos whether in a church or outside where everyone applauded when the bride walked down the aisle. I think it was the because it took so long for them to get it done.

What a wonderful day that would have been. And maybe another one to come soon! The step-dancing would have been the icing on the cake.
