Happy Friday Everyone! sunshine and cooler temperatures today (yay) We did have a bit of thunder overnight but nothing that kept me awake. Looks like a very nice holiday weekend ahead. I don't have any "big" plans but we are going to do a family barbecue on Sunday. I'm really looking forward to having the family together as I've seen everyone here and there over the summer but we've never all been together since Mother's Day. We'll do the usual barbecue stuff....burgers, hot dogs, chicken, potato salad, coleslaw , watermelon and whatever else everyone brings. Today is my daughters last early Friday and her work day ends at 1pm. Next week it's back to regular hours and a sure sign that summer is over. As much as I'm looking forward to cooler weather as Fall approaches I'm certainly not happy when it gets dark so early every evening. Last night the sunset by 7:30pm and before we know it, it will be dark by 5pm Then we'll (or I will) be complaining about the cold, snow etc How's your Friday going? Anything fun planned for the weekend?

There isn't any sunshine here today, it is very overcast, and it was foggy this morning. It is cooler, which I like, but a bit too cool. The zipper on my (favorite) winter coat began getting harder and harder to do up, those darn 2-way zippers are like that, a couple of years ago. I have shopped for a replacement coat, but without luck. All that I could find last year were a wool blend coat, and wool blends are not machine washable. So on Monday I dropped my coat off at a place in Byron, where our son lives, and I picked it back up today, and I am ready for the cold weather in that aspect, but no other aspect. When we left our son's place today, he and the girls came out to wave to us as we backed out of the driveway, and I told my husband that I just got 'my' car back, it is no longer Willow's car, as that is who claimed it was hers. Grandpa feels a bit lost, but I reminded him, that they still need him just on a lesser time frame, and they have asked him to work on the basement project they've got going.

Lets see........................ hmmmm, fun, hmmmm well, trying to get Roscoe to come in because I'm waiting for packages can be fun, I get some exercise following him around trying to get him interested in going inside. Roscoe took lessons from Tuffy ..... dangit.

You know, that’s a good point about the sun setting early. Maybe I got that happy lamp just in time. I don’t mind the early sunsets at first, but after about a month, I’m over it. I don’t do well driving in the dark either. Yes, big plans Monday for Labor Day! My sister and her whole family will make a trek to see us, and I am so excited! We get to give the littles their birthday gifts too. Hudson will be 11 and Annelyn will be 7! I think their birthdays are the 6th and 9th, respectively.

Happy Friday! That barbecue sounds like a lovely way to get everyone together, especially since you have not all been together since Mother’s Day. Burgers, chicken, watermelon and all the usual sides sounds like a pretty perfect family gathering to me. I know what you mean about the earlier sunsets though. I enjoy cooler weather, but I could definitely do without the early darkness! Enjoy your family time on Sunday and hopefully the weather stays nice for you.

Sunday bbq with the whole fam sounds perfect, nothing beats burgers and watermelon when everyone finally gets together. I feel you on the early sunsets though, I always forget how fast that creeps up till it hits me. Happy Friday, hope the weathers just as nice for you this weekend.
