How do you “wrap”? / myLot

I used to wrap presents for everyone because it’s usually more fun to unveil. About two years ago, I said forget it, and switched to gift bags as much as possible. Pictured is a gift bag I got for free, and it had a card and tissue paper with it. I’m going to use it for my niece Annelyn’s birthday gift I’m giving me Monday when she’s here. Are you wrapping paper people, gift bag people, or does it depend on the size of the gift?

My wife does the wrapping, except when I buy her gifts. But then I have to explain that I really tried lol

Well, I'm not really exaggerating much when I say I possibly might be the worst gift-wrapper on the planet, but I do it anyway. But the last couple decades, most of my gifts I've given have been gift certificates or cards from either a record/CD store or a tattoo shop, so, envelopes.

I still prefer wrapping gifts but there are times when I feel a bit lazy and I would just use paper bags instead.

I think if I were really good at wrapping I might find it more enjoyable. I’m average at best.

@AmbiePam the trick is to buy gifts that come in square boxes ....much easier to wrap . anything in an awkward shape gets given to my Mom to wrap......she is an expert.

I stopped giving gifts yrs ago when people complained about what they got, that's when I stopped gifting.

I’m definitely a gift bag person! So much easier, and I can reuse them too. I only use wrapping paper when I have to.

That’s a good point. You can reuse the gift bags. It’s more environmentally friendly.

I do both. Wrapping mostly for smaller items and bags for all the big stuff. I will even get the big santa bags for the grandkids sometimes at Christmas. They love those--it just seems like more with one big bag! Kids!

That looks really neat. It depends on the gift, but I usually use gift bags. Not only is it easier, but there are some really nice ones out there.

It depends if its cute, we use it sometimes for aesthetic, we use news paper, hehehe I think we did that once, along time ago.

I have cut down on my wrapping. I usually only wrap for family members, for others I will use a gift bag and tissue paper, unless I am wrapping something really oddly shaped for a family member.
