Have you heard of mosaic crochet?

The photo shows the creative work of another of our retirement village residents. These pieces are all crocheted but it’s not like any crochet I’ve seen. She calls it ‘mosaic crochet’ and says she learnt it from YouTube tutorials. Guess where I’m heading next! The big rug on the right took her two years to crochet with wool she purchased from Turkey. I’m not sure what you could make from mosaic crochet but I’m guessing rugs, place mats, maybe even jackets. All I know is that I’m keen to try my hand at it.

It almost looks like a native Turkish national made it. I admire how crafty people spend so much time for their craft.

It does look like some sort of national cultural pursuit. The wool came from Turkey so maybe the instructions did too.

No, I have never heard of mosaic crochet. Those blankets are beautiful. However, I used to do regular crocheting and I want to get back to doing it.

They are lovely. That would take a lot of time. I was reading directions for a blanket that had you using different colors at once and just crocheting over the line that wasn't active at the time.
