Something here toted away the melon

I put an over ripe melon outside..near the woods knowing an animal or two would probably enjoy it. A day later the entire thing was gone. Something toted it away. You are talking about at least half a pound of melon Maybe deer had it right onsite .or God forbid a bear was there . I am thinking raccoons did it, but can't be sure. I was surprised, but not shocked. Did you ever have animals carry something away?

Yeah, they would have..but something was big enough to tote out almost a whole canteloupe in 2 large pieces. My number one vote is racoons, but like you said could be any larger animal..probably, and probably more than one since both pieces were gone, unless the one came back and got the other piece.

@LadyDuck Apparently foxes, oppussums and coyotes can also get into melons. It was tn 2 pieces, but something fairly strong had to carry it off

Yeah..a long time ago. I wanted to eat rice and stew . I decided to have lunch outside the house..So I put my food down, went inside to take something, before i returned, a chicken had picked up the beef on my food. So annoying because it was a large beef. I just saw the chicken running away with the beef

I live in a city so the only animals we have around are street dogs, cats and maybe mice in some places. I would be terrified to live somewhere where I could meet a bear.
