A service dog named Maverick is being praised by the relatives of a three year old boy who went missing in Atchinson Kansas around three weeks ago. The name of the boy was not released by the authorities who found the boy in a rural area in Atchinson Kansas by the Atchinson County Emergencies, Rescue and EMS officers with Maverick being with the boy until the boy was found and reunited with his relatives on Thursday August 20. Maverick has been rewarded by the searchers for being the protector of the boy with treats as a thank you of gratitude. How did the child get lost from his relatives is not known. Dogs are the best friends of man and children. Hopefully the relatives of the three year old boy will keep a closer watch over their child in the near future.
