Paperless

I have a theory about hand washing. That theory is that in public restrooms where they have quit using paper towels and only blow driers fewer people wash their hands. I get it, I do not like those roaring, blasting, wall mounted machines, but I cannot stand to leave a restroom, especially a public one, without washing my hands. Do you think I am right on this? There is a place I stop for the restroom when traveling to the nursing home. Inevitably if someone else comes in and uses the facilities they leave without washing. I only noticed this since they remodeled and went to only having the wall blower for drying purposes.

Actually, the hand dryers are horribly unsanitary, much more so than using paper towels. Many public restrooms now use touchless machines for their paper towels--and that's the reason.

It’s unfortunate they got rid of the paper towels as they are more sanitary than the blowers, but I’d still rather wash my hands and use the blowers than not wash my hands at all. I’d like to think those who don’t wash their hands have hand sanitizer in their cars.

I'm the same way. If I have to dry my hands with a blower it's much better than harsh paper towels.

You are right. One shouldn't leave the bathroom without washing their hands. That is nasty and unsanitary.

Yeah I think you might be onto something there. Those blowers take forever and people just don't wanna stand around waiting so they skip washing all together. Paper towels were quick, in and out, no excuse not to wash.

You can always bring your own paper towels. Washing our hands is very important especially after using a bathroom, regardless if they are using paper towels or not, as long as they are water and soap provided, bringign your own paper towel is not hard.

If there are no paper towels, I just flip my hands or give them a quick wipe on my slacks.
