Have you ever been in a position where you had to "take care of someone"? Entitlement issues tick me off.

I am in that uncomfortable position right now, and it frustrates me sometimes.
My little brother is not "handy," and has not made it out to the cabin we co-own for over 30 years.
So I wind up taking care of the place.
So of course he thanks me and occasionally offers to compensate me for time and materials for keeping the place up.
No, actually he does nothing, offers nothing, and expects me to keep the place standing..He has "entitlement issues."
Have you ever had to take care of someone, even if it's against your will?

People are so incredible. I have heard so many stories like this. I'm glad I don't have any siblings. He'll let you continue to do it all as long as you do. I'm sorry you have to deal with this.

That would frustrate me too. When responsibility keeps falling on one person while the other person benefits without contributing, it can start to feel very unfair. I haven't personally had to take care of someone against my will, but I can understand how exhausting and resentful that situation could become, especially after so many years. At some point, I think there has to be a conversation about sharing the responsibility or the costs, because it shouldn't automatically be assumed that you will always take care of everything

Is there a reason he never goes there? It’s definitely not right that he doesn’t pay his fair share. And what about taxes? Can you send him a bill?
I hate it when people are entitled. It’s very hard to deal with and so frustrating.

That sounds so frustrating, carrying all the weight while he just assume you'll handle it. Family can really take advantage without even realizing it, or maybe they do realize and just don't care. I hope you find a way to talk to him about it before the resentment build up too much.
