We visited my sister yesterday and I was very tempted to walk off with this cute quail family. When we were young and riding our horses on the farm, quails might suddenly take off from in front of our ponies, causing them to shy suddenly to one side. I know I took at least one spill when this happened.
In later years, my mother and sister both had quails in large cages. Until they were a week or two old, the tiny babies were able to get through the bird netting. I’ve occasionally seen quail on fancy menus but have never been tempted to order it.

There are many wild quails in Indonesia but i think it is smaller than yours. Quails are delicious but the meat is so Tiny.

Were your mother and sisters used for the eggs or just pets? My husband hunts them.

Those are really cute. I've never seen one but have heard there used to be some in our desert before it was destroyed by developers.

that quail family is really cute and I can see where you would be tempted to sneak them into your bag. I don't know much about quails but I think I would find it very hard to order one on a menu,

I've never tried it before. I don't even know if I've ever had the opportunity.
