Bone Graft

I guess I didn’t realize there was something for my dentist to do before she made my mouth piece, so I didn’t expect to show up today and find out I’m getting a bone graft. It went fine, but she told me it’s really going to hurt in the next few days. She also said if I taste something that feels like sand, it’s just bone. Gross.
Have you ever had a bone graft? My dad’s best friend had one in his back. Poor guy.

I’m sorry that you had to have that done. Yes, I had two bone grafts on my foot. Not fun. And the worst part of it was when I started to walk on it sometimes it crunched!

I have not had a bone graft,my Drs wanted to do one when I was younger, to correct a deformity from a previous surgery in my foot, but I aged out of the military system that would have covered it before I was able to get it done.

@AmbiePam Yes, I have lived with the deformity so long it doesn't even embarrass me like it used to, but I'd jump at the chance to get it fixed just for better gait, if I can get it done in a civilian hospital.
