My 1st experience with porch pirating

That means you get stuff delivered outside your door and losers steal it because, well, losers. I've never had this experience either at the house or here up on the 3rd floor until today. Like who is coming up to the 3rd floor to steal my delivery of Yankee Candles?
It has to be someone up here. I'm on good terms from those right across from me so it has to be one of the other 2. . . or maybe it was Mr. Fed Ex worker who took the pic by my door and then took the box on his way. Yes the picture shows that it was here at the door at noon. It was not at 2pm when I got back from work.
I called Yankee Candle and was like "the order isn't here, I don't care about the picture, and I am not about to be out $100 on candles. Look up how loyal a customer I am". After the nice lady in Bombay or wherever checked with her manager she said they would do a one-time only reship for the missing items. Great. Make it signature required or deliver it to the management office.
These people are incredible. They are just trying to make my life more difficult when I am the one who can pay rent on time and who doesn't smoke $hit all day on the landing. But like I said now it is GAME ON.

Yes, I know that Amazon will bring it right to my door. However, 99% of the time I opt to pick it up at Whole Foods Market (which is just down the street from Chuy’s, so it’s not like it’s out of the way) for that very reason. I will also text my neighbor if the VA decides to fill a prescription order while I’m out of town and leave it on my porch. I have a locked mailbox for most things, but those big boxes of lidocaine patches won’t fit in there.

@FourWalls Picking things up from somewhere nearby sounds like a good way to avoid the whole porch-pirate problem. I can see why you do it, especially when you know you might not be home for the delivery.

I was sick when it happened to me. The very first time it was my groceries (they left the dog pads), and I knew exactly who it was. But since it was friends of a woman getting evicted, I figured the problem was gone. Then back in April, I got one expensive thing for free, and some cheaper stuff, stolen. You might remember that. I was so upset. I had planned to sell the expensive thing, plus I thought I wouldn’t get free things anymore since I had to report it stolen.
I won’t go into how I knew, but I knew who did it. He later left his front door wide open, and I stood in his doorway yelling his name, but he was too chicken to face me. Last week I finally got a doorbell camera. No one is messing with me now because I will press charges if they spit in front of my door.
It will be nice to learn from your brain and those whom you enlist to help you plan some payback.

@AmbiePam It sounds like you have definitely had enough experience with this! The doorbell camera should at least make people think twice. I would rather have a camera and never need it than have something stolen and have no idea who took it.

You are most likely right that it is a neighbor. I hope the next shipment is fine. Do you have a door bell camera. I do not. I am supposed to have a small television delivered tomorrow.

This would annoy me too, especially when the delivery photo clearly shows the package was actually there. At least Yankee Candle is replacing it, and having it sent with a signature or to the management office should make things a lot safer next time. Hopefully you get your candles without any more drama.

Porch pirates are everywhere, so many on cameras...they often wear masks. No offense, but with the neighbors you have, you really need a camera.
