Oh,the things that mothers do for their children!

Most of you know my son is battling some health problems. He hasn’t had the best week. He also hasn’t been very hungry despite me trying to offer him the things he almost always wants to eat. Today, he said nothing sounded good. Well, I can’t force him to eat.
All of a sudden he decided on homemade pizza. I didn’t have any in the freezer like I usually do, but I had made and frozen the crusts so that mess was eliminated. I rounded up the usual pizza ingredients and he decided his toppings were ground beef, chopped onions, mushrooms and of course cheese. He sat on the kitchen stool and put on his own choices. And he finally did eat and enjoyed his pizza.
I honestly felt like cheering, he finally decided to eat. Normally he eats whatever I fix, but this week he just hasn’t wanted much of anything.
It’s a win, yay!

Alright! Moms come through again!
I remember when I was sick, and I mentioned this before, nothing sounded good to eat except fried chicken and fried potatoes with onions. Bless her heart, she did it all the time. Funny thing, I haven’t had that combination in years. Maybe for my birthday I’ll take the initiative and splurge on the calories.

You definitely should splurge, and have your old favorite. I honestly can’t recall when I last had fried chicken I don’t fry many foods. But it does sound delicious!!
I was just excited that I finally hit on something that sounded good to him.

@MarieCoyle I would have been excited too. It’s so hard to watch loved ones suffer.

Glad you were able to give him what he wanted! Have you ever tried the crazy crust pizza? That comes together in a snap. I was thinking I could make that soon, but I have more than half left of a pizza in the fridge now.

I think I have mentioned that he has had several mouth and jaw surgeries, to repair this and that from the wreck. Anyway, it has made some things a bit difficult for him to chew. He used to really prefer thin, crispy crust for pizza. Now he gets more of a pan cruse going, it's a lot easier for him to chew. It has improved, he does eat some things he couldn't eat before the surgeries...baby steps.
When I make pizza, I usually make them smaller in somewhat of a ''personal pan'' style. If I make a big one, we have too much leftover and then I have to freeze slices. I've had 4 little pizza pans for years, they are so helpful.

That's good to hear. What I hate is when I'm hungry and can't think of anything good to eat.

He was hungry, but nothing sounded good to him for several days. I brought home some red grapes that he really likes, I was glad to see him eat those today.

No, I'm not the best Mom...but I know I love them all dearly and do the best I can for them. And often, it's the little things that mean the most, but I know that you know that. Thank you, Anna.

His choice of pizza sounded good and glad he enjoyed it. Yes, moms do worry even when kids are adults. It was good that you had the fixins for pizza for him.

As I am sure you know since you are a Mom, we have to try to have some things we know that they like if we can. And most of us know how to make a good meal out of pantry staples, etc. Hey, it all works for me.
