Guess what? I’m using my phone

Hi folks. Guess what? I’m doing this on my phone! No big deal for most people but a giant step forward for me. I may not be able to post a photo but them’s the breaks. I’ve been able to read and comment so yay for me. Next step is learning to use my thumbs so I’m quicker. It’s a beautiful day here and we’re off to do some sightseeing. Will you look at that? I’ve added a photo. There will be no stopping me now.

I don’t think I should. I’m prone to carsickness and Vince’s tolerance only extends so far.

Glad you are enjoying your phone to mylot. I simply don't. I like resting my hands on a keyboard and touch typing. And I can type really fast. I find the phone too inconvenient. It's small and mylot isn't mobile friendly at all. It has been my wish for ages that mylot create a mobile app making the interface more mobile friendly. When that happens, that's the only time I'd be using my phone to mylot.

I won't have to miss out on myLotting no matter where I am as long as I've got my phone. I can look as absorbed and self-centred as everyone else!

I knew you could do it, Judy! I use my laptop when it’s convenient but use my phone quite a bit for mylot.

It isn’t always convenient to take my laptop and I use the mouse so more stuff to cart around.

@JudyEv I totally understand that! I sometimes take my laptop on trips, but it just depends on where I’m going.

that's a big step and you did it with the photo too. Thumbs get faster with practice, trust me. Enjoy the sightseeing and the nice weather.

Thanks. There is something wrong with the site at the moment and photos aren't loading which is a shame.

Alright! Good for you. I got so used to my phone I didn’t even try to replace my Kindle when Dumb and Dumber through it away. I love just using a phone now. I don’t even use my thumbs; I’m so fast with one finger I don’t need to look at the keyboard. No joke. I’m glad you could check in with us. We miss you when you’re gone.

Aww, thanks. Actually I’m pretty fast with one finger too. I use predictive text but try to remember to check my replies.

I haven’t had a computer in years. It is a lot slower to type on my phone for myLot then a computer but it allows me to pop in when I can wherever I am

@JudyEv yep that’s what I do. It’s great if I forget a book or am trying to catch up on notifications on here and just sitting in an office or the car waiting.

I'm really only beginning to see how useful it will be if I'm waiting for something or someone. Even just to read a few posts and comment.

How great! I remember when I first started using mine to Mylot. I still don't use my thumbs. I was taught to use all my fingers and can't get away from that after so many years.

@LadyDuck Vince sometimes sounds a bit patronising when I have to ask him for help with the phone but sometimes he ends up swearing at it too!

Congratulations! You're doing better than I can on a phone. When I'm sending text messages, I still can't just use my thumbs to type the text out.

@JudyEv That's the problem I run into trying to type like kids do. It's easier for me to use the predictive texting and let the phone try to guess what I'm typing.

@DaddyEvil I quite like predictive texting. I don't think I'm going to bother with the thumb thing.

@JudyEv Ah, the yellow rose of Texas. Since I no longer have a desktop or laptop I do everything on my phone. By no means an expert, but needs must.

I find the predictive text useful and I don't think I'll persevere with trying to use my thumbs. My fingers are pretty fat too.

Another good way to use your phone to post is by using voice to text.

I've been thinking about that but I type posts in Word and always find myself going back and tidying them up. I don't really need to but that's just me.
