Do you get a flu shot? / myLot

For years and years I didn't get one. I don't know why. It isn't like I'm anti-vax. It just wasn't something that I felt was necessary. Well the district I work for has a day each fall where they set up right in the arena at my school and they administer free flu shots. I'm getting older now and I have asthma. There's really no valid reason for me to skip getting one when it is sooooo easy to just walk down there, get the shot, and then head on my way. It is free. It is fast. Why not? Do you get a flu shot?

No, because my brother in law and his Mom have gotten the flu even after having the flu shot.

Yes, I get the flu jab. People over here get it for free if they are over 65 or have health conditions. I’ve had the flu before and it knocked me for six, so I’ll take any precautions available to avoid getting it again.

I'm almost 70 & have no reason to get any shots unless I necessarily need 1, other than that, I don't put stuff like that in my body. I've had my share of hospitals over the years.

Yeah I get one every year now, mostly cause its so easy and my school does it too. Honestly I used to skip it and nothing happened, but with asthma I think you made the right call. Free and fast is hard to argue with.

No, but I used to every year, and every year I got the flu something awful. I finally stopped getting the flu shot, and also stopped getting the flu. Now, I think it’s a total coincidence that it happened that way, but it’s a little bit like the old saying of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

I get all the shots the doctor recommends. I'm up to date but waiting on an RSV vaccine. Our centre only gets x numbers of vaccine each month.
