Steak and chips for tea tonight ….

As you know The Mister works away Monday to Friday.
Sometimes he eats out and sometimes he cooks for himself ….he is a very good cook .
This week he is eating out ……but ….he was going to cook for himself…..
So, what changed …..
Well, on Sunday when we were doing his shopping he bought two steaks for himself and one for me to have during the week.
Of course , when we got home the steaks were put in the fridge ….
His yogurts were put in the fridge, his bottle of milk was put in the fridge …..and once I’d made his sandwiches, they were put in the fridge.
Monday morning, he gets up, gets his freeze block from the freezer to put in his cool box, gets his sandwiches from the fridge, gets his yogurts from the fridge, gets his bottle of milk from the fridge …..
Yep, what had he done …..
Left his steaks in the fridge !
So I checked the date and they will be fine for him to take next week.
So he is eating out this week …..and I get to have my steak and chips….

@traceyjayne Cottage pie followed by panna cotta. Missus has been away all day in Belfast not sure of which train she’s getting back so dinner will be kept simple.

I am going to have to make a panna cotta ….I used to make one years ago ….i admit it was a packet one you just added milk and cream too …..hey, don’t judge me, …..don’t hold it against me….i was young ….i wouldn’t do it now!
Cottage pie is one of my favourites too

Ooohh onion rings ….you just reminded me ….i have some in the freezer….i should have had some with my steak. Hope yours were tasty.

@Wrexxo. I told him I would leave my steak til next week as I feel guilty having mine while he forgot his ….he laughed and said I should have it this week….
Stew is comforting food indeed,

@Traceyjayne That was thoughtful of you to offer to save yours for him, but at least he gave you permission to enjoy it! And yes, you can never go too far wrong with a good stew.

Haha, his forgetfulness has worked out nicely for you! At least the steaks will keep for next week, so nobody really loses out. Steak and chips sounds lovely. I would probably have enjoyed mine too!
