Heart Cath (My Dad)

So a few weeks ago my dad had a heart scan. He mumbled something about unnecessary medical tests, but for the sake of my stepmom, he went. This morning, he called me to let the cat out of the bag. The scan had showed plaque buildup so they called and told him he really needed to have a heart cath. He didn’t tell my sister or me to avoid worrying us, the stinker. The good news is that there are no blockages. Makes me nervous now though.

@LooeyVille I don’t like the sound of that at all. It sounds very uncaring. I mean, if a heart attack hits does she want you to shoot her a text?

I’m sure sorry. I know you really love and worry about him. Will the heart catch be before the family trip? He (and you) will be in my prayers.

OK, I wasn't sure when I read the post if he had it already or not, when I asked.

Sorry to hear about the health worries. Good that there is no blockages. Parents are terrible for keeping these things to themselves….

I'm sorry to hear that. That is good there are no blockages. I can understand his point, but we always worry about our loved ones!

Thank goodness he got a good bill of health as far as blockages are concerned.
He is such a loving father, to save you both the worry.
I remember when my mil, who had to have the plaque removed from the veins in her neck, went in for surgery.
All 8 of her children and 2 of the in-laws gathered at the hospital to support her and each other.
I actually wonder how my arteries are, and I almost wish that there was a non evasive way of checking, there is still a margin of risk with the cath that doesn't sit well with me.
Bless him, and may he live alot more years enjoing good health.

Glad he got checked before something became fully blocked. That is usually a simple procedure anymore

I can relate to what you are going through since your dad is not feeling well.
