Happy Friday Everyone! it's sunny and really nice here today. The temperatures will be in the 70s but I woke up to chilly temps in the 50s. The cold weather really plays havoc with my knees and arthritis so I had to relax, enjoy my coffee and chat here for a bit while I waited for my medication to kick in.
Thankfully the pain is less so now I can go on with my day and hopefully check off some things on my "to do" list.
Yesterday we got such a pleasant surprise in the mail I think I posted about our hair stylist leaving and moving to Georgia which really left us sad that now we have to find someone new. But, staying with the same stylist for almost 15 years turned more into friendship than just business. Her kids were just little ones when we met and now they've graduated and heading off to college., Same with my grandkids.
So, yesterday we got a really nice thank you card from her. She said she was so thankful to have known us and appreciated our business. She said if we're ever in Georgia to give her a call and added her phone number.
Just hearing how much she appreciated our business really made me smile.
A thoughtful note goes a really long way and it makes me miss her even more
My daughter was kidding when she said "I wonder how much it would cost to fly to Georgia for a haircut"

Ha, that would be funny. Very nice of her to send you a note, but I am sure she appreciated having you as customers.

Happy Friday! What a sweet card to get, 15 years is a long time and it sounds like she was more like family than a stylist. Your daughter's joke made me laugh, honestly a haircut trip to Georgia doesnt sound that bad. Hope the knees feel better as the day warms up.

Pretty and I made friends with our last hairdresser, too. She disappeared from the last salon where she worked and another woman with the same name was there for our last haircut.
When my name was called, I went to the station and said "You aren't Lexie! Which station is she at?" And the poor woman said "My name is Lexie. The Lexie you're looking for got sick and left." So we let the different Lexie cut our hair. I wasn't unhappy about the haircut but Pretty griped about hers for several days afterwards. I started getting sick while waiting for Pretty to get done so gave her my debit card to pay with and went out to our car to wait.
It wasn't until the next day that I asked how much our haircuts cost and Pretty told me she didn't leave a tip.
We had exchanged numbers with our last hairdresser but that was years ago and her number isn't the same anymore.
I'd like to check on her and make sure she's doing okay.
BTW, Pretty just left for a doctor appointment about half an hour ago. When she left, I checked my phone for the temp outside and it was 73F, so I told her to put on a jacket. Now the temp outside is 85F. We're supposed to reach a high of 88F today but I won't be surprised if we aren't warmer than that before noon hits.

What a lovely thing for her to do. I bet you wish you could go to Georgia for a haircut.
