Another day, more medical stuff, finally home.

I bet you all get so tired of reading all of these posts, but it's our life right now. Yes, we do and talk of other things, but for the ones who want to know about my son, I will update you.
Today was bloodwork on everything, iron infusion, blood transfusion--because his eye hemorrhages so often now, he needs more blood given. They decided to throw in another IV antibiotic as well. After several hours of all of this stuff, he had a physical for his upcoming surgery. Luckily, all of this was done at our hospital, so I didn't have to go a gazillion places for once, but unfortunately it wiped him out. I did my ''cheerful on the outside, worried on the inside'' thing that us Mom's do.
They will check him at least two more times before the surgery, to make sure there is no infection, his blood and iron levels are higher, etc. We were not aware that the tumor he has was considered very rare (of course it was!) but it is. There is no way of knowing whether it's benign or not until it is removed and biopsied. Some are cancerous, some are not. The doctor in charge of all of this is encouraging, as other than his blood and iron being low (it has been for years, his body simply does not make enough blood, yes, I know this is weird but it's a thing.)
Of course, the day wiped him out, he fell asleep as soon as he got into the car. And of course, I got behind a huge traffic mess due to a wreck and sat on the interstate for about 40 minutes. It felt really good to be home!
I made him some banana bread, he asked for it yesterday. He ate vegetable soup, one of his favorites, and some sharp cheddar cheese, and he's resting. He says he feels better than he did earlier. That's a plus!

Yes, he wants it over and done with, so did I. It was stressful waiting on the insurance approval for the surgery. I am really glad to at least not to have to worry about that anymore!

With his body not producing enough good quality blood I am not surprised today wiped him out. His food combo sounds like it just hit the spot.

Honestly, without our faith,we would be lost most of the time. And we are so fortunate to have wonderful friends and family. When son got smacked by that semi, it truly did a number on his body. It’s complicated because he already had some health issues, but he was still working and still independent. The doctors tell us he will get better, but it will be a process. We don’t give up around here. Thank you so much, Judy.
