…For an injury report. I’m on the DL. Sorry, baseball, you can change the names all you want, but they’re still the Cleveland Indians, it’s a ground-rule double (what is this “automatic double” garbage? ), and it’s the disabled list. I went walking after lunch, as usual. What was unusual about it was I fell. Hard. As in, the Apple Watch started beeping and saying it detected a fall. (For those of you who don’t know, that’s a marvelous piece of technology…if you don’t turn it off in 30 seconds it will call 911!) I was scraped up, and my hand where I caught myself (or tried to) was very sore. I figured I’d better hoof it to the ER. Oh, I’m a little more than scraped up. I have two broken bones in my right hand. It’s in a splint, resting on a pillow as I type this. The ER doctor said the hand clinic would call in a couple of days to schedule a more detailed evaluation. He did say he didn’t see anything necessitating surgery, thank God. (I nearly broke my glasses, too, and they left a nasty abrasion under my right eye.) So it’s slow typing for six weeks or so. But don’t worry, I’m still going to torment you with those Hollywood songs. I’m telling everyone that, six months after he died, Chuck Norris kicked my butt.
