What A Week

What a week. Of course Monday was Thanksgiving Day, which was great. But every day since then we have had such strange weather. We had extreme heat on Tuesday, and a bit again on Wednesday. Today was cool, rain is on its way. This Saturday our night time low will be -1C, and of course there is the threat of frost should that forecast pan out. But with it comes another word nobody wants to, nor is used to hearing in mid October. Snow! Now, our first snow last year was on November 11th, but that was early, this is worst. I guess El Nino is going to provide a bothersome season. Grandpa was called upon today. The school called to have Willow picked up as she was feeling unwell. Our son had an important must attend meeting, our daughter-in-law's workplace is far enough that it wasn't practical for her to go, so Grandpa went. She just complained that her head didn't feel good and pointed to her chest area and claimed that wasn't well. She has no fever and has been napping on and off since she got home at 1pm. I think that she is in a growth spurt, and they were on the go alot this week and past weekend, and she may be very tired. Hopefully she feels better soon. Tonight will be a cool one here, but great for sleeping. From temperatures in the 30's to night time low tonight of just 8C with rain. But rain beats the white stuff, especially in October. ~Photo is mine

Snow in October would be early for you. When I lived up North though..I rember it always snowed by my birthday which is Nov. 15.

I doubt we will see any, it is just too mild even for flakes. we usually see the word 'snow' in our forecast around your Thanksgiving. But last year we had our first flakes, turn into a big dump on Remembrance Day, and we were knee deep in it.

It rained all day here, and got down to 67 F (19 C) today, but I was thrilled. Any day I don’t have to run the air conditioner or heater is a good day. I certainly hope Willow feels a lot better tomorrow. Poor little sweetheart.

I pray Willow will feel better by tomorrow. Blast that El Niño, it's kicked out anything normal for the time being but I'm praying it's over before the end of October ..... ok, so I'm dreaming but what the heck, right?

Thank you, she started to feel better mid-morning, your prayers worked. I think that she made a bit more of it than she needed to, but it is over with now. I agree this weather is crazy.

Today is seasonably cool and raining on and off. I have a nice beef stew in the oven, we'll have that with biscuits for supper. It is a stew kind of day today.

Hope little Willow is just tired and not coming down with something. Good thing Grandpa was able to pick her up. Our weather has been crazy too but thankfully no snow in our forecast (yet).

Yesterday, and last night she had something. But she probably could have gone to school at noon today, but they have a rule that you cannot attend if you are 24 hours within being sick. She 'acted' sick today until Grandpa sat her down and had a little chat with her about missing school and the consequences of staying in that classroom next year when her sister and friends go to another room. She cried, but she understood.

It is a very long time that I do not see snow in October, it happened when I was young. I am sorry to hear that Willow is not well, may be something she ate that her stomach did not like.

She had something yesterday, but it was only a 24 hour bug, she was better by noon or so today. But the school's policy is no coming in within 24 hours of being sick, and it was literally 24 hours from when she came down with it until she felt better. today is seasonably cool, and rainy, but I cannot imagine snow yet.

She was only sick for like 24 hours. But she tried to milk it for more than it was, until Grandpa had a talk with her. She will try to power through things like this in the future.

When our son was about four, he didn't wake in the morning so I let him sleep and he eventually woke at 4pm. In the meantime, I'd rung a nurse friend for advice but it seems he just needed some extra sleep.

She actually slept late today too, not that late, but she slept yesterday afternoon and right through the night. Personally, I have noticed a change in her, but I feel like it is both a physical as well as an emotional growth spurt. That could explain it.

Snow in mid October sounds rough, hope the frost doesn't hit your garden too hard. Glad you were able to get Willow from school, I bet she just needed some rest after such a busy week. Hope she's feeling better soon and the weather settles down a bit.

I doubt we will get snow yet this month. The garden is all shoveled over for the season now. Thanks, Willow is much better today.
