Got my first forwarded piece of mail

Got my first forwarded piece of mail.
It was from the IRS.
The letter says I may be eligible for a federal match on my retirement contributions.
This doesn’t apply to me as I don’t have a retirement plan nor do I work currently.
I will keep the letter though, just in case.
I still find it weird that I only got one forwarded piece of mail since being at my mom’s for almost two months.
I guess nothing else was mailed to my old address.

At least you know the forwarding system is working. I don’t get much mail now other than junk. Most of my correspondence is via email. I like it that way, because the postal service here is terrible. I read today that there are 400 postal workers a week leaving their jobs, and The Royal Mail is in danger of collapse. I’m not surprised.

I didn't realize you had moved. How's the new place? How can you afford it without a job?

I would lay bets that if no one is living in your old house yet, your mailbox there is stuffed with mail that was never forwarded. If the new owners are in the home, maybe the realtor can contact them to see if they have been getting any of your mail. One piece of forwarded mail in 2 months time is not acceptable, nor realistic. I would go to the post office, too, and discuss it with them.

The house was sold so those that bought it are probably living there already. There wasn’t much to renovate there.
