Another lazy day

Well thank Darwin for the weekends to catch up on rest. I always say it is inhumane to have people showing up to work in the dark. It is awful for the students too. I have 1 student who falls asleep multiple times during 1st period on the regular. Me? I'm ready to fall asleep around 6th period. I didn't get much of anything accomplished this weekend aside from dishes and laundry. I did take lots of naps. I am waiting on a grocery order to make some fruit salad jars. That's about all that's on my agenda for today though. I'm fine with that.

You get to school so early, and get out of there so early--is that normal for New Jersey? The schools here start at 8 AM and the kids get released at 3-3:15. I've not known any teachers here that have to be at school so early.

Yeah it is normal for high schools. Have to be done early so sports and clubs can happen. We have to be in by 7am and are out at 1:35pm. We are supposed to stay until 1:50 but few people do. I'm back here usually by 2pm. I often beat the buses out.

@NJChicaa That is really early to be able to get home from work. If you have to be there by 7, no wonder you get up so early.

I’m with you on travelling to and from work in the dark. The working days should be cut to a couple of hours around midday, during the winter months. Fortunately for me, as a retired gentleman of leisure, I don’t have that problem. What I have been doing though is continuing with my garden tidy up before the weather turns. We’ve had a few cold but dry days and I’ve taken advantage of it. The rain is due tomorrow and the forecast isn’t looking good, so I feel I’ve accomplished a lot. Normally I’m sitting on my backside all weekend watching the football (soccer). Don’t ask me how my team got on.

I'm hoping to get out into the garden today too. I have a new pot to put a plant into and some mulch to spread around.

Totally agree, school starting in the dark is rough on everybody, teachers and kids both. Naps, dishes and laundry sounds like a perfect weekend to me honestly. Those fruit salad jars sound yummy, enjoy your lazy evening.
