Years ago, when I was young, and Adam and Eve were still dating and hadn’t taken up gardening and growing fruit yet, I used to enjoy a chocolate bar called Marathon. Good strong name for a good, strong product. Nuts and chocolate …whats not to love….right ! Then, someone. I don’t know who exactly ….they never tell you these things ….decided that it should be called Snickers …. Same product, but completely different name …..go figure ! Anyway, we got some of these bad boys at the weekend and I am just enjoying one now …. It’s a great snack and a little piece of my childhood …. What confectionery item did you enjoy as a child ? Do you still have it today ?

I don't eat many sweets nowadays apart from chocolate. I'm not fond of nuts. I used to love Violet Crumbles. I think you can still get them - chocolate covered honeycomb.

Marathon to Snickers, I remember that switch too, it threw everyone off for a while. For me it was Fruit Pastilles, I could eat a whole tube in one go. Still buy them sometimes and they taste exactly like I remember.

They’ve been Snickers as far back as I can even remember. Who knew it had a different name. I love Snickers regular, AND Snickers almond.

I used to be a sprinter in my day, but did love the occasional marathon. I haven’t had one in a while, as my teeth are subject to breaking now, so I avoid most nuts. A Milky Way is about my limit now, or the cheaper Tesco equivalent - Cosmic Whip. Gone in two bites!
