I found them

I finally found the documents (SSN card, passport, certificate of citizenship) that I was looking for, along with an expanding case file where a lot of my old mail and important papers are stored.
I was looking for them in the garage again, as I had done many times before, and decided to see what was in a box that was taped up. I never looked at it before because it was taped up and I didn’t think they were in there.
When I approached the box I noticed that it said the word DOCS on it. I cut the tape along the center of the box, opened the box, and staring at me, was the folder with the documents and the expanding case file.
I wish it had hit me weeks ago to do that. Would’ve saved me the headache, frustration, etc. trying to figure out where they are.

My mom’s friend told her “you’re looking at it but don’t see it” and that made me check out that taped box.

Yes. It’s a relief for sure. I was already thinking about how I will have to replace them and didn’t want to deal with that.

I’m usually good at finding things but it usually never takes that long.

I once found my dad’s wallet in the freezer. And it was purely by accident that I found it.

I didn’t even know I had a box labeled DOCS or I would’ve checked there.

Good to hear you’ve found the missing documents. It’s a real pain moving house because you get so used to where everything is, and then you have to start again.

True. And also things can go missing in the process.

Maybe once you stop looking you will find it. Or look at places where it shouldn’t be.

Yes! Finally! I didn’t want to have to replace the docs.
