Three pots instead of a hedge

I planted my yellow gerbera today in a big white pot. I talked about it a discussion or two back and put up an old photo of that section of the garden. There used to be a hedge where the pots are but that's been taken out.
The gerbera looks a bit insignificant at the moment but hopefully, given time, it will grow to fill the pot a bit better. The pots are equal distances apart although it doesn’t look like it in the photo. There are ficus plants in the other two white pots.
The garden looks quite different from a few years ago. The groundcover has been busily spreading and gazanias are providing a bit of colour. The tree was planted by the developers and is a crepe myrtle.

The flowers are looking beautiful though the ground grass look a bit crowded.

That's true. I'll remove some of the gazanias at some stage.

I am sure it will look nice when it fills in.

Just now
Change is good. I'm not much of a fan of hedges. Give it time and see what develops.

I'm sure the yellow gerbera will look lovely once it grows a little bigger. Sometimes plants look rather small in large pots at first, but they soon fill out. It must be nice to see how much your garden has changed over the years. Do you have plans to add more flowers?

At first I thought the yellow flowers in the photo are dandelions.Hope the gerbera thrives in the pot !

The gazanias do look a bit like dandelions. Gazanias are regarded as a noxious weed here but our garden stores are still selling them.

It all looks very green.
I’ve never heard of a crepe myrtle. It sounds like something you would eat. Did they plant it in front of the window to give you some privacy, or just something to look at?

Just something to look at I guess. Maybe you know crepe myrtle as Lagerstroemia. It comes in various colours. Every house in the village has some sort of tree in the front. Probably about half are crepe myrtles.

I might remove some of the gazanias and let the groundcover do its thing.

It looks so much better with the pots instead of the hedge.
