Rice Cooker Mishaps.

I was cooking rice a while ago. When it was time to check it, I saw that, for some reason, I hadn't pressed the button to cook so it was just on keep warm. And I do not like the feel of the rice when it has been soaked for a while before it has been cooked. I don't like my rice soft and mushy. Now, I am cooking chocolate porridge, we call it champorado.

I tend to use microwave rice these days. Quick and easy. Chocolate porridge sounds delicious. As the winter is approaching I am switching my breakfast cereal choice from overnight oats to porridge. I don’t usually put chocolate in, only fruit and honey.

Rice goes bad when its a bit off. That is why I do not like making it for anyone. I will eat it but they will let me know for days its was not right.

It happened to me once that I forgot to put on the rice cooker with rice and water inside. Champorado is very delicious.

Yes, I think this is the second time I did that but the first one, years ago, the rice cooker was already broken

Ha, I have done the same thing with my rice cooker before, so annoying. Soft mushy rice is the worst, I get you. Champorado sounds like a good save though, I never tried it but now I want some.

Oh, I completely get where you are coming from! That is such an asian's nightmare to not have a proper cooked rice! I experienced that also but it was from a faulty rice cooker (which was replaced by the way). What I normally do is if the rice was uncook because of some faulty situation I'd go put the rice to a gas stove and let it cook there in low heat so that It won't get burnt.

I bought a mini rice cooker few years ago. I liked it at first until I didn't make my rice right.

I don't have a rice cooker. I''d like to be able to cook a rice pudding like my Mum cooked.
