This week the girls are both away, which is a novel experience! It also means I don’t absolutely have to get up at 7 am which is the normal routine on a school day.
So yesterday I actually dozed off again for a few minutes and in...

A person cannot spend the entirety of their life tearing down a healthy society and then expect personal immunity from the fallout. It's often said that people reap what they sow, and that is absolute fact.
I've watched as...

I've seen advertising for a new movie that's coming out soon - "Civil War", set in a nightmarish near future America. I've been thinking of seeing it. Has anyone else seen it yet, and if so do you think it's worth the price of a...

Good morning everyone,
My sister Jess was in a car accident yesterday, but she escaped with a fairly mild injury, thankfully. Last I heard she was being held for observation.
She's out of State so I only know what I was told via...

Nowadays we all need to be finding ways to help the environment. We need to do things to save energy, conserve water, and recycle. When we go to upgrade our cell phones we need to recycle old cell phones also to extend the life...

passengers on a flight in Indonesia should count themselves lucky that one of the pilots on board woke up after sleeping for about 30 minutes leaving the aircraft to fly on automated mode. This could have been another disaster but...

Aparajita Bhattacharjee On one hand I empathize with them for having to go through tremendous exhaustion under pressure. On the other hand, chide at their lack of control over sleep and a sense of responsibility. There can be other factors also, but they should never have taken the...

I had been sick for about a week with something I still wonder if it was COVID. I had 7 out of 11 symptoms. Ugh! I was sick. I drank Alka-Seltzer and ate very little. I found Lemon Ginger tea very soothing and drank many...

Have you noticed how the questions on forms have changed somewhat over the past few years?
Once you never would have seen ‘what pronoun do you prefer’. Vince was highly tempted to put ‘me’, in answer to that.
I have a bit of...

Aparajita Bhattacharjee Even I play with the pronoun 'they' when I have to hide a 'his' or 'her' identity. But accepting 'They' as a gender is a bit difficult when it rests on the singular. 'Strange' ! 'Fragile'! Really!! I don't want to offend but I found this piece funny.

I spent the afternoon curled up with my book. It was a good distraction especially since it's lighthearted and funny.
One of my favorite authors is Janet Evanovich and the book I'm reading is Dirty Thirty.
It's the 30th book in...

Overusing the world "whatever" may mean you don't take things seriously . Unfortunately most people use the word recklessly without care for its implication. Do you find yourself using "whatever" when you converse with people?

Aparajita Bhattacharjee Yes, sometimes, but that depends on the context. Like when the point in the context need no elaboration or when I'm giving my opinions or views. 'Whatever' in discussions can be harsh if one is not in sync with your feelings in the course of a...
