blognchick started a new discussion called Healthcare for all? in politics.

What do you think of healthcare for all? I am on the fence about this one. I do think that all CHILDREN should get healthcare regardless of healthcondion. As for adults...there are far to many "drains on society," who don't work, and don't contribute to society in any way except to breed like rabbits. If they want more social security or food stamps, it just means it's time to pop out anoth...

blognchick started a new discussion called Social Security: Are the requirements fair? in questions & answers.

I know several people on social security, and a few that should be but still work. Of the people who are on social security, and are not retirement age, most of them are not really disabled. They just pretend or act the part to get the free money so they never have to work! One such person had a stroke once but still has complete control of his body, mind and speack. Unless he told you he h...

Have you noticed a trend pointing toward controversial content getting more replys? If I posted something about stem cell research, abortion, the death penalty, healthcare reform etc? I want to make the most of my posts so should I try this? Does it work for you?

blognchick responded to a discussion called did you freak over weather you would be a good parent? in parenting.

I wasn't really worried about being a good parent when I was pregnant nor when my children were babies. I was always a babysitter and loved it. Everyone always told me I was really good with children. Now that I have two children (2 & 5) I am concerned as they aren't as well behaved as I was at that age, not that I was a perfect angel but my parents kept me in line. My oldest son is in Pre-K...

I don't think we can cut out the insurance comanies. Think of the job loss that would cause! But they just need to be better regulated, hospitals too. I don't know how they can get away with charging upwards of $8 for two Tylonol!I am, fortunately for me, of the lower WORKING middle class that still qualifies for medicaid. I find it to be a great program. I may quailfy for additional public...

I never said they were theives, just manipulating the system. I personally know several such people as my mother grew up on what is now the "bad side of town." She was friends with several people who did this. They had gold in their teeth, the latest brand name clothes and the latest cell phones but lived in dilapidated houses that I never stepped foot in. She was so discusted by these people t...

Exactly! I don't care if it's state run, government run or all the insurance companies got together, made friends and created something that works. Of course I agree that those who can't work should still be taken care of. It's not their fault, they didn't ask to get old or be disabled.

Definately! I don't want to pay to support junkies. I think all jobs should require drug testing. There are too many 100% clean people who can't find jobs while dope boy is gainfully employed and supporting his habbit.

Have you ever tried one of those ab stimulating/shocking excersise belts?

I have used one once as I borrowed it from a friend so havent stuck with it long enough to know if it actually does any good. The product I tried was called Contour Abs. It had 4 sticky pads on it...

What do you think about video games in public libraries?

I personally think it's a great idea! Video games, even ones you wouldn't expect, are educational. They sharpen cognative thinking skills and problem solving skills. Most players don't even realize...
