AVATARS... and how they make you smile

i have encountered lots of cute and interesting avatars here in myLot. and i admit, i am amazed on how i get to smile when seeing one.
i mostly remember avatars and not remember much the usernames...
i still can remember desiderata's avatar. a man punching his keyboards so quick with his monitor flashing.
repzkoopz's dancing "happy feet"
jr3vic's (is the spelling right?) stumbling penguin which he/she changed into something new already.
raijin's robot who's one hand is moving.
ryanrudolph's dancing streetfighter avatar.
marie's turning star which changes colors, too.
and there's this avatar of a cat and a dog. their heads are moving getting closer to each other... really cute.
and just minutes ago, i saw a new avatar... looks like an old novelist with a feather pen moving... as if writing something...
and yes, there are still loads of avatars which captures our attention.
so, how do avatars affect you, too?

Yes, avatars really help us in identifying our friends. Once I see lorwarwizard's avatar, I immediately know that he has a new discussion posted. When I see those penguins, the happy feet and the one that stumbles, they make me happy. How I miss the one who pounds the keyboards so animatedly, that's desiderata. There are times when I find myself spending so much time enjoying the avatars of mylotters. It's a good way to let time pass by when I am not in the right mood to respond to some discussions.

I would imagine that you are referring to my avatar when you mention an old novelist. I have used a lot of different avatars so far and only changed to this one recently, although I have been using the image for years as part of my email signature.
I really enjoy many of the avatars here, and I think that Marie2473 has one of the best avatsrs that I have seen here. I can never resist trying out new avatars, and even used a Santa at Christmas and an Easter Bunny during the Easter period.

My friend, mine is a creature and not a robot!;)
I guess it made some impressions here, as I also seen some good ones here. It helped some posters gather responses to their own discussions, and made them recognized by others, like you!;)
Gee, maybe mylot should put up an avatar competition here!;)

I have seen alot of cute avatars also. I loved the animated ones that have moving characters. I wish I knew how to upload avatars like that. It really gives us something new to look at while we are surfing Mylot. I don't have any pictures to put on Mylot right now. My avatar is very dull and plain and i have seen alot of Mylot members with the same one that I have. Avatars can tell and show alot about a person and some of them can change my mood.

it's just that because i enjoy pictures continuously moving, cool and alive. they catch my attention and love looking at them. that's how i am being lighthearted (trait of a filipino...mababaw ang kaligayahan).LOL

Hi Maryanne! Some of the avatar are great. Some avatars make you question what the heck the person is trying to convey about themselves. But, I know who is who by their avatar. When they change it, I am confused.

Yes, I have also seen a few really weird avatars here on mylot. I don't know how people keep coming up with something new.

When a friend changes her/his avatar I usually get confused until I have learned who it is =)
I think usin your picture is nice for an avatar as well - it does not have to move - as long as it is personal =)

i just love my picture with my boyfriend and i miss him a lot. and since i am alwayson myLot, it's good to put our picture on my avatar. whenever i miss him, i just look at the left corner of my computer while on myLot and i see his cute smile already.
as for you, i just remember, before you have that turning star, you had a star, too before... it's color blue, right? but it's not moving. good for you to have a new moving star!
how's your love life by the way? and how's your boyfriend's birthday?

You know avatars do have an ability to make me smile, laugh or just wonder why?
Like for example; It's a very nice photo, I've always enjoyed seeing other people happy because a large amount of life I've not been able to see to many smiling faces and it's always nice to see them!
Also I think avatars tell us a lot about the member, it's great how they can impact us when they're just an image but I personally think that's a cool thing.

yes avatar sometimes get my attention that sometimes led to visiting their profile and if they got a good discussions led to responding to it, but thats just a few. mostly on my friends list are my kababayan.

Being a subjective person...and perfectioniste to(not a good combination if you ask my daughter..lol)i admit that avatars mean for me something...
I think is express your self little and i like to see original and interesting avatars,and usual back to those avatars you find a good,sweet human...
All i can say is that i am all time imprest about all those little windows of personality,and i just have to complain about the ghosts...mean the black avatars...why some old mylotians don't put a picture in their avatar??

i am not sure why others never bothered to put something in their avatars. maybe they have their reasons to it. but i have no idea what reasons could be behind it.

hello there maryanne!. i like to look at the avatars of friends too and i think that some of them are soo cute that i cannot prevent the smile from appearing in my face. anyways i tend to remember avatars than names too.. i think that avatars are more eye catching and more easy to remember than names.. i do have some cute pictures here but id rather not change my avatar anymore because i have used it for so long that i think changing it would change mylot for me too.. LOLS

I find some of the avatars very catchy and some very cute,like the pups or cats.Then there are a few that make you laugh,like I see a small boys avatar who frowns ,but is very cute to look at ,lol.I often think why the person used that particular expression of the kid and I realise that he wanted us to laugh,lol.
There is another avatar in which a blonde shakes her head and her hair.I like that one because it's funny,lol.

I also remember the avatars more than the user names unless it is someone on my friends list. I noticed many of the ones you have mentioned in your discussions also.

I think avatars are very special, and it leaves an very good trademark to others. I personally love some avatars of other members. Especially the moving ones. And it is more easier to get to know the user, when they have a specific avatar. I must admit I get confused sometimes when my friends change avatars. But if by that time their personalities came tru and I know them a little better. It doesn't matter at all, how many times they changes avatars. And I found your avatar cute, Maryanne, especially after reading why you choose it. Wishing you more love and happiness. God bless!! (^^,)
