In the debates last night, Sen. Hillary Clinton stated that the best way to support the troops in Iraq is to bring them home. So, using her own logic... The best way we can support Democrat candidates at all levels of government, is to send them home. ;~D

LOL Very funny Para. I'm a Democrat myself, but I gotta tell ya after watching the debates last night I was amazed at some of the side stepstepping that was going on by certain candidates, and still can't get over the fact that Hillary has such a hard time admitting she shouldn't have voted to give Bush the authority to go to war. It looked like Edwards and Obama had a good relationship going. I wonder if we would see an Obama/Edwards ticket? My hubby came up with an idea to make the debates more interesting, everytime a candidate tries to sidestep a question the little "Whammy" guy from that old game show "Press Your Luck" would come out, stand in front of their podium and be obnoxious.

Sounds like an idea for a drinking game too. ;~D I think Hillary can't decide whether she is glad she voted for the original authorization or not. Apparently her polling information isn't conclusive enough for her to have a firm oppinion on it yet. ;~D

I actually would not want to send all the democrats home. The republicans only act like republicans when they have some democrats around to whom they can be compared. An example of this would have been the republican congress actually balancing the budget under Bill Clinton, just to oppose him! To anyone who thinks the republicans mean what they say in things like their political platforms, look at what they do when they have complete control. When republicans are plainly in complete control they pass similar laws to democrats. We can only get the democrats or the republicans to behave when they are afraid for their jobs and they can be compared to the other party which is also in power. The people (us folks) must divide and conquer to rule over the major parties instead of having them rule over us.

Yeah, we do need some opposition in Washington, but I'd rather see it come from stronger 3rd parties than them democrats. ;~D

Speaking of 3d parties, the constitution party sometimes has some interesting things to say. Can you imagine it? There actually is a party in the USA that advocates respecting the US constitution!

Yeah, imagine a party BASED on the U.S. Constitution. You're right, they do have some great ideas. They, like all other 3rd parties, just have an inferiority complex.

Yes, we should punish the republicans by keeping them in Washington:) We should love our democrat politicians so much that we should keep them home. Who in their right mind would want to live in Washington D.C. anyway? It was built on a swamp for crying out loud. Punish the Republicans in '08 and send everyone of them to Washington D.C.! ;D

Considering the Senators that I have and my Congressman I am not sure I want them to come home. Maybe we could elect them to a more progressive country, one that they seem to feel are being oppressed by the US. Maybe Iran, Venezuela, Cuba or Syara, countries that they seem to think are better than the USA? It seem to me that they are not happy in the USA. They are always telling us that this is wrong and that is wrong and we are wrong, I have not heard them say anything good about the USA.

Haven't you heard? To these guys, you are only patriotic if you trash the US.

How about this for a novel concept? (You can thank me later.) How about if we ABOLISH this party system & just have ALL politicians get elected on their merits, or not re-elected for demerits, on the AMERICAN TICKET. They're all supposed to be working for us & the country as a whole. WHY can't they do that as a unified group instead of having to pick sides to an issue. It's like there are a strong 2, sometimes weak 3, sides to every issue & that's just not the way life operates. There's always more than just black & white.

You mean (gasp) like the U.S. Constitution mandates?

Duh, it just dawned on me that in order to do that they'd have to engage in intelligent conversation with each other to get to a decision. If "the party" aspect was taken out of these discussions, I bet they'd be way more PRODUCTIVE a whole lot QUICKER.

So the best thing the US could have done for England on D-Day was to bring the troops home instead?

The best way to support the troops is to make sure they have the funding and equipment necessary to fight this war. It would also help if the democrats would stop supporting the terrorists of the world by trying to stop the fight against them. I agree, send the democrats home.

Yeah, isn't it ironic that they never talk about the terrorists leaving Iraq... just us.
