I prefer baking. In my mind it just seems easier. You season your meat and then stick it in the oven. It isn't the only method I use, but when I don't feel like standing over the stove, I bake. Which method do you prefer?

It really depends on what I'm cooking which method I prefer. I agree though that baking is one of the easiest ways to go. The only thing I dont like is how hot it makes the house in the summer months.

I have to say baking. Not only because it is easier, but because it is a lot healthier than frying. I do not like a lot of grease and sometimes greasy foods make me sick to my stomach. Sometimes, I will fry my steaks a little and then add my seasonings and water-sometimes barbque sauce and let it simmer for a while. When I prepare it this way, my steaks come out tender, juicy, and delicious.

I don't really have a preference. I love cooking, and I love all of the different methods. There are times I'm not in the mood for one method or another, but I don't really prefer any one method.

Hi, well in our part of the country using the standing-stove cooking method is used mainly, which would include frying or slow cooking as you could call it. Baking is done sometimes i feel, as different people have different tastes so whatever method you would use, would be as per the requirements of your family and its members too. I personally use a combination of all the methods as i love to cook and try out different dishes. I use my skillets, frying pans and cookers for the variety of cooking that i do,and my microwave and oven for the baking which is used in various dishes. I guess all the methods have their pros and cons and depends which method you would like to use , when you are making a particular kind of dish. My family tends to get bored if i just feed them one kind of cooked food, so they ask for a variety and i am glad to give it to them too.

For meat, I like grilling. I like the taste best afterward, and I believe that most of the fat sort of runs off, so I think the food is healthier. Not sure if that is true, but hey, it makes me think I'm doing a good job.

I prefer to bake because basically the oven does all the work. I do not have to many slow cooking recipes so I stay away from that method.

In the warmer weather - 40 and above...the grill is the only way to cook meat. Next is the crockpot. I find that cooking by shoving in oven is boring. I guess I am tired of doing it day in-day out at work.

If something is cooking in my house it is usually by crock pot. I like to toss the ingredients together and forget the pot for about 8 to 15 hours and not have to fuss with it. Crock pots are easy on the energy bill and don't overheat the house like the oven.

Like you I prefer baking over any other method of cooking--for instance I prefer oven-fried chicken over pan frying as it doesn't burn the chicken like frying does...and I just don't care for heavy, deep fried foods any way. The only slow cooking on top of the stove thing I do is when I make my homemade soups

Hi miamilady! Oh sometimes I prefer not to do the cooking at all and just do the eating. LOL! just kidding..As for me, I do like baking, I just season the meat or the fish then just sick it in the oven just like you do. But I also do slow cooking over the stove or pan frying because there are some kind of preparations that my hubby really loves to eat. Take care and have a nie day!

I love all these methods of cooking actually it depends on what one is making. The method adopted would be different for each dish. For some i need to do baking for others i need to fry the item and still others may need the use of oven. Actually i try to make different things which gives a different taste to my family members and they love this change too.

I use my slow cooker a couple of times a week most of the time. It's just so much easier. I can put all the food in there in the morning, and then go about the day and do whatever I need to get done. Then when my husband gets up at night, our food is ready. I like to bake food, too. But the problem I have with that, is that it is hard to get my 18 month old to stay away from the stove while the oven is on. He always wants to see what I'm doing. Frying isn't something I do very often. Ground beef is about the only meat that I fry on a regular basis. And even that, if I am making hamburgers or something, I grill them instead. Fried rice is the only thing that I fry in a typical week (it's one of my son's favorites, so we have it lunch once or twice a week).

If were having a small roast I love slow pan cooking. It just tastes so much better to me and that's the way my hubby prefers it too. I do love to bake a good turkey or chicken or Cornish Hens but unfortunately my oven won't work for some strange reason. Of course the stove is only about 40 yrs old, I don't know why it would decide it doesn't want to work now!

I almost always have to use the stove for any side dishes I am preparing. I do use a variety of other methods. I use the cp, pressure cooker, deep fryer, skillet, dutch over, oven, or the broiler. I grew up having a home cooked meal for supper and did it for my family.

Slow cooking I even get recipes books from the library I sometimes work at home. Slow cooking has been a blessing.
