What makes people so hateful and hurtful?

I must be in a bad mood this morning because I seldom do this but I noticed that someone is marking my discussions mature content when they are not even near it! My birds name! Duh...So I emailed admin and hopefully they will find the person/persons who are doing this.
This is the type of discussion I don't like to start or even read when I see it but why would anyone do this? Do they not have a life? Are they that small a person that they have to hurt...if you want to call it that...another member? It doesn't matter because no matter what my rating is I'm still going to be earning money. They can rate me negatives and I can be a 1 but I'm still making money!
All I have to say is get a life! When I'm not on mylot I have one so I don't have a need to be mean to people on the internet!
Has anyone else had this happen to them? Do you let mylot know about it? The image I've chosen is probably what they look like...lol...

I just don't understand why people come on here to do that. It seems to be a waste of their time. If I come on here, I come to enjoy myself, not to try and annoy other people.

I think the majority of members feel the same we. We don't really care what anyone says we just want to earn some money and see what other people think about things.

Well,in your case...I think that people are simple jealous and they can't offord to see someone progressing.Don't worry,such people are making no harm except for themselves(I believe such).

Yep and if I know or think I know who it is, I let mylot know that as well. Mylot will watch them to.
I feel sorry for such chickens that attack from the back, you know? What sad little people they are to not have the guts to speak their minds, but lurk in the shadows to post in tags and attack ratings.

You were at my house this morning and took my pciture..and I did not realize it.
I don't know why people would makr something like your birds name as mature content..but a slang expression I have heard for 'giving people the finger' is 'giving them the bird'. Maybe it was mylot that marked your topic.
Face it, they seem to be able to find words, but they don't use any kind of artificial intellience to decide if discussions are really mature...for example recipes that contain the word b*r*e*a*s*t as in chicken are marked mature content.

I understand the "giving the bird" but my discussion was obviously not mature content if they even read it. And what's wrong with giving someone the finger? I give it to all of those toads all the time!

I just checked your profile page. You are going to want to go back through your old discussions. It looks like several of your discussions have been tagged as mature content. You will want to report each one that has been attacked in this fashion. Looks like the Nasty Tagger is active again.

I noticed it on quite a few others also. I did let mylot know that it's more than one and not one of them is actually mature content. We seem to always get one!

Right here Ctry! I'm one of the prime victims of what you are describing. Or at least the negative tagging (Pendragon is another).
Someone or some people just need to give it a rest. I mean you have to be real pitiful to do stuff like this. It'll still be done cause people just have issues. I just wish there was a little more recourse against clowns like this.

Well mature content isn't so bad to be labeled and tagged...sometime ago, there was a prankster who tagged people's discussions, especially with one MyLotter with vulgar tags...words that one couldn't normally use at all in a discussion as they're banned words, but somehow slipped through the tagging label process...For some reason some words, even though they are innocent enough to MyLot has twin meanings...for instance one could do a harmless discussion about talking about one part of chicken for cooking, the "B" word that is banned or considered mature content,...go figure

No, it isn't so bad but it does keep some people on my friends list from getting the email that I started a new discussion. Which in turn loses a few cents for me. To me that's not very nice.

Some people just have nothing better to do with their life than insult others on the internet and be mean to others on the internet. You never know what they're like in person and it's sad there's people like that and the internet is such a useful resource for people to be mean and hurtful, but.. eh. I mean, who knows why they're like that. I think they're the only ones who could answer that question.

yes, I have heard this story before. It is ridiculous and mylot does seem to take care of it. I don't always pay attention to tags so i m not sure if it's happened to me but i have heard complaints like yours. Sounds like someone just likes stirring the pot and hoping to create some drama. your posts are great...don't let this person get to you.

I seldom look at things like that but I just happened to notice one and looked at other of my discussions and couldn't believe how many were marked that way. Yes, some people love drama but what they don't realize is that by them doing that I will earn more money by starting this discussion so their little ploy didn't work did it? ha ha!

oh welpz, peole are people..i had been tag as mature content on some of my posts too but just ignored it though i know for a fact my posts is no where near that mature content they are tagging me with..i don't care for as long as it wont affect my earnings then be my guess and mark me like how you want to mark me..i'm so sick and tired of this people who's doing this to me..then i said to myself ok..why would i get upset when i know i'm just feeling their happiness when i'm getting upset..at least i'm still earning and thats it.

Please my other post to your discussion like this one.
Go on with your more positive discussions. The person probably saw your topic of depression, feels you are vulnerable and is trying to get you just the way the person has gotten you (read your post, this is not like you, this is what the person manipulated you to be). Ignore the person, s/he will have to come out in the open. When the person does, report him/her. But don't let the person manipulate you. Go on with life, that will tick the person off. Mylot will know who reported it as mature content and it may not be yours they reported, but someone else's answer. Relax, be happy, be yourself. Smile

You are so right. I brought myself down to their level and that is not the way I am. I basically want people who do that know that admin. will be alerted and hopefully do something about it. I personally know that mylot does things like that.

it because of the attitude only. no amount of caxing them will change them better to avoid them if they talk too much or hurt too much. i do that rarely !take care dear!

HI there, yeah it happened to me a couple of weeks ago and i was really annoyed that time.
TO tell you, my Star Rating was at the #10 and as you can see, i am down to #9 again and i really don't know why it happened.
I cannot remember anything that i did something wrong here or even did a thing that against the rules.
As far as i know, i am doing good here and i am not doing anything to harm anyone here and then suddenly, ill just see that my Rating was down to #9. Duh!
That's why i emailed the admin and i consulted them and asked them, if they can explain what happened to my #10 Rating here.

I can't imagine why anyone would be so cruel to you, ctry. Your discussions are always quality ones. Suffice it to say that some people derive pleasure from trying to make others miserable. I think we have all had a taste of this medicine here on myLot. I would not worry overmuch about it. Just continue to do the great job that you have been doing. You said it best. You are still earning your money.:D
