I binged on chocolate chip cookies tonight.

I've been trying to diet for about 3 weeks. I hate diets. I hate the idea of diets. When I diet, I think of it more as eating healthier and getting more excercise. I don't do fad diets. Anyway...I don't know if it was stress or boredom, but I needed some comfort food tonight. My comfort food of choice was Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies. The ones that are pre-cut. All you have to do is stick them on the cookie sheet and bake. They are SO good. Now, I'm feeling a little guilty. I'm going to have to go take a walk tomorrow or something. Do you ever binge? Do you have a favorite comfort food?

LOL do I binge?? HELL YA!! though not as much as I used to luckily....I dont think i have a fav comfort food though....and I used to feel guilty when I did binge but nowdays I just realize that the following day I have to be extra careful of what i eat and make sure I do a workout or go for a walk/bike ride etc etc.. I'm not a fan of "dieting" either..I LOVE food LOL and I love to cook AND I'm the one who does the cooking in the house for the family so its not like I can pawn the job off to someone else and live off salad ya know LOL....so...I DON'T diet...I dont think dieting is really necessary. I think its more (for me anywya) a matter of portion control, healthier choices and working out/exercising regularly....

"I think its more (for me anywya) a matter of portion control, healthier choices and working out/exercising regularly.... " I agree. Right now my "diet" consists of exercising a little more control over those portions.

Yum. Did you have a glass of milk with them? What you described is my favorite splurge- warm chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven. My other favorite comfort food is mashed potatoes. I try not to binge, but I've been known to put away quite a few of those chocolate chip cookies!

choc chip cookies and homemade brownies are my favorite desserts. Mashed potatoes are good. I like to eat them with corn mixed in. Is that weird?

I haven't had those cookies in a long time. They sound good though. We try to eat healthy at our house (most of the time) and we try to exercise too. We don't call it a diet though, we are just trying to be more healthy. We don't really ever binge, but if we want something we will eat it. We don't try to deprive ourselves of anything though.

I feel you. stuff them cookies in yo mouth and have no regrets you only live once and id rather live happy than be depressed about the whole thing. im not a fan of diets and i dont see why people care about how they look so much. its alright to be attractive dont get me wrong but when you start changing the way you live to effect the way you look theres got to be something wrong. dont feel guilty you only have one shot on this planet live it up.

I've done that before. It was Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Cookie Dough Ice Cream. Thank God it was one of those little containers of ice cream.

I do this sometimes. I will eat mostly healthy food for a really long time, and then one day I will eat something like a whole bag of potato chips. I really like potato chips.

Sooo many people go on diets and sooo many people end up 'cheating' and giving up and falling into a huge black hole of guilt because of it. So what if you had cookies?! I don't know how many you had, but if you had 2 or 3 who cares? If you deprive yourself of something, it's only natural that you will end up caving in and going overboard with eating it. So many diets have been tried and tested and it's a billion dollar industry that can send a person broke. But unless you have a medical problem that makes it difficult for you to lose weight, the most intelligent way to lose weight is to put out more than you put in. Makes sense doesn't it? If you put more junk in your body than you're burning off, it's gonna plant itself in your body and make you fat. Watch what you eat. You don't have to live on lettuce leaves-get rid of the deep fried stuff, eat more fruit and vegies, limit your meat intake, drink more water. Use your brain and the weight will fall off and you'll feel great! Good luck. PS: And don't forget to treat yourself or you'll go mental.

You are just not going to believe this. I am sitting here right now feeling sick and guilty for eating eighteen Keebler chocolate chip cookies. I wish that I could go and throw them up, but somehow that just seems like it would make things so much worse. Sugar is a very bad habit for me and it is going to take a miracle for me to get a handle on it. Thank God, I believe in miracles.

Personally I don't binge, but as a therapist I have helped many people who have had this problem and guilt is generally the biggest problem for them. If they deal with the guilt, overall they tend to become more successful at eating healthily. I help them to use a Zen-like meditation 20 minutes each day where they can let go of the past. If they have binged they simply need to forgive themselves and move on. As human beings, when we cannot forgive ourselves properly, the tendency is to repeat the behaviour pattern again and again - it is like a struggle within the self and the negative part likes to win as much as the positive part. When we forgive ourself, both "parts" come together (or integrate) and then there is no need for a "winner" and a "loser" and this gives us greater freedom of choice.

I'm afraid so, I have several comfort foods! Too many to mention! But any way, what I wanted to say is, I have run into some interesting discussions right here on myLot that are very interesting, for instance; have you ever eaten a meal and you are still hungry? They were mentioning the fact, that your body tells you what nutrients it needs, if you eat and are still hungry you haven't satisfied your body needs! So what you need to do is provide your body with the nutrition it needs, or use a supplement before you eat,to make sure your body gets the nutrition it needs! Another interesting discussion I was reading was, they were discussing that not only does it matter what foods you eat, but how much of it you eat helps you cut down on calories, because in a lot of cases your body doesn't need all those extra calories!

I rarely ever binge, and even when I do I can pretty much stop myself before I start to go overboard. But even if you do binge, it is only a simple mistake that you can improve from in the long run. Try to avoid the foods that you could never have enough of. Write it down if you have to; whatever works for you. My comfort food would have to be Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup. Only one store in my area sells it. The soup is the eptiome of my childhood.

I've been binging on Hershey milk chocolate kisses for months now. This would not be so bad except that I haven't been exercising either. I managed to hold myself down to just 56 kisses today. I also occasionaly binge on chocolate chip cookies but I don't bother to bake them; I just get some from the supermarket bakery. They have some that are really good and are soft the way I like them.

My comfort food is and always will be chocolate! Whenever I am down or feeling a little lost I want chocolate, my best friend of the moment, lol. When I am totally depressed I find Sara Lee Chocolate Cake can make me smile! But I can smell those cookies from here and I want some, lol.

Chocolate is my comfort food. However, right now I am fighting off a cold so I have refrained from all sugar stuff. I try not to binge but when I get stressed that just seems to happen and it seems to get easier as I get older.
