I was at the store today and was wondering what the difference was between Diet Coke and Coke Zero. I read the labels and couldn't find any difference. The ingredients were all the same. Is there a difference and what is it?

I thought Coke Zero contained sucralose (Splenda) so that it was less bitter and tasted more like non-diet soda. Basically the Coke equivalent of Pepsi One. I do know that I like Coke Zero better, but I'll stick with Diet Pepsi and Diet Mt. Dew.

in the Uk the main difference is that Coke Zero is target directly towards men and the brand was designed to be "bloke Coke" - because they were losing sales towards Pepsi Max. It doesn't taste the same as Diet Coke - I don't know what diffrent they put in it but I've tried it once and didn't get the almost instant caffine buzz like diet coke or Pepsi Max but was wired all night - almost as if it was the real thing with all the sugar.

i think coke zero is just a new face for diet soda, thats why you dont see any difference on the ingredients.

Although it is mostly a marketing ploy, the chemical difference is that Coke Zero has about half the aspartame but has more ace-k. The reason they call it Coke Zero is to appeal to people who don't like the word "diet" in their beverage. In my opinion, aspartame is a harmful ingredient, much worse than real sugar. Ace-K is another phenylalanine based artificial sweetener. If you would like to read about how and why phenylalanine consumption is believed to be harmful to human brain cells, here is an article: http://www.sweetpoison.com/phenylalanine.html

Coke Zero tastes more like regular coke. I am not sure how because the ingredients are the same, as you said. I am actually drinking one right now. lol It has that familiar classic coke flavor to me, but without the sugar or calories.

I doubt there is a difference because, many people do not know this there is no real difference in any pop. In fact Diet pop is worse for you, and esspecially if you have Diebetes I did not know this until recently. I friend of my fathers who is Diebetic, would drink Diet pop all the time. Until his doctor told him, that there was no real difference, in pop. Even those claiming to be sugar free, are not 100% sugar free, because as soon as it hits your system, sugar is created from it or something. It is the same with Potato chips, people see the word Diet and think hey this is good better for you, its not. In fact it really is better for you to drink normal pop then it is diet anyway, because diet pop contains a chemical, that is actually posionous.

I've never really compared labels. I just know that Coke Zero does not taste like real coke. It does taste less "diety" than Diet Coke though. Now you have me curious as to what the difference is lol..

Yep—that is it- right there in a nutshell. Coke Zero is supposed to taste more like regular coke- Not as bitter as Diet Coke- But it’s supposed to be Zero calories- like Diet Coke. I’ve tried both and sorry to say that I stuck to Regular Coke. Tastes the sweetest!

I'm Glad you read the ingredients. Did you find anything in the ingredients that is actually good for you? Mostly sugar isn't it? Sugar rots your teeth and gives you diabetes. Theres acid in there too. The acid will disolve an iron nail if left in the pop over night. (I wonder what it does to your stomach?) Some people use Coke to wash the bugs off their car window. If I was you I'd stop drinking Coke. There must be something you can drink thats better for your Health!
