This discussion was inspired by a response in another of my discussions. I buy myself something each year and wrap it. I tag it to Bob from Santa. My family thinks I am crazy but it's something I've done for many years and will continue doing as I think it's fun and cool. I love it. Maybe I haven't grown up yet? Well I know thats the truth. Ask my kids and wife. It's never anything real big nor exspensive. Just something I needed. Like socks, underwear, gloves etc. HAHAHA! Do you buy yourself a gift each year tagging it as being from Santa? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That's so cute! I have never bought a gift for myself, but I have bought gifts for my husband and friends and tagged them from Santa because I like the fun of that too.

Nope I can't say that I ever have done this before. I am guessing you started this when the kids were younger. That way it made you look like you got a gift from Santa too! I think if I did do that it would be something more than underwear or socks!

And why should the fun end when are of a grown up age ( notice I didn't say we are grown up)...of course I am much your elder..but I still haven't grown up!!! I love the Santa gift idea...I still believe in him...and sometimes he hides little gifts in my Christmas sock..I know it's him...and I love it!! When I was in the second grade ( a few years ago) Santa walked right in our front door while we were all sitting in the living room..he had a huge sack of toys and gave me just the doll I had wanted and asked for...my brothers each got exactly what they had asked for too..We were all in shock..my dad looked the most surprised...it was the best memory..our whole family still talks about it..I was just telling my grandkids that story last night...it still makes me tingly when I remember that night...

I'll never grow up, I refuse to. HAHAHA! He tags mine so I DO know it's from him. He even uses the same wrapping paper I have which I think is awesome as well. He really knows my tastes in everything come the holidays. HAHAHAHA!! That's a great memory. Thanks for sharing it here as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My children comment to this day that the paper Santa used was NEVER seen on anything again...that Santa..he can be so tricky...he tries to fool you by using your paper...and with us he never used the same paper twice.. A jolly little trickster!!!

Hi Grandpa Bob! That is just too cute! I have never bought myself something and put it from Santa. Hmmmm! What a great idea (more loot for me that way) lol. I think I might so that then my daughter doesn't ask why I never got anything from Santa. She might then think I'm a bad mommy! Merry Christmas to you and your family hun! I think that's why I do it. It makes me feel special being the only adult to get a gift from the Jolly Old Man in Red. HAHAHAHA!! I don't think I started this for the kids. I did it when I was a child as well. HAHAHAHA! So I have litterally been Santa for many years then my kids actually know. Hmmmm? Hee hee. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I could see how that could make you feel special so I say go for it! Hopefully I will get some nice goodies from Santa too! As I said my hubby and I do a stocking for eachother, and I think it's neat! I love getting him little prezzies, and seeing him happy! Am looking forward to next year, my daughter will be 2 1/2 so she will be more into Christmas I think ;)

I can't say I necessarily wrap it and put it under the tree, but since my husband isn't here, I will give myself something to enjoy. But that could be the start of a new tradition around here! LOL

I guess in a way I do, I always make sure Santa leaves something in everyone's stocking, including the dog's. However, this year I did buy myself something a little on the expensive side for me, I got myself a laptop, and figured it was my Christmas gift to me. I normally don't buy myself a gift, because for many years, through two marriages, I bought all the presents, including my own, and wrapped them to put under the tree. I am now with a wonderful man that loves surprising me for Christmas, in fact, he wrapped my presents last night, I have no clue! But, he is actually worse than a kid wanting to open their own presents, in that he can't wait for me to open mine! The past two years I have received early Christmas presents because he couldn't wait, I also had presents to unwrap Christmas morning lol And I'd rather him shop, and surprise me then for me to buy my own and wrap it.

Hey! That was supposed to be my laptop. I asked all my family and friendfs for one for a gift this year. Now send it to me please? HAHAHA! I always try to open mine last as I am the one that hands the figts to my wife, dad, the kids, and to our grandsons. I like seeing their eyes then open mine after. Maybe I just like all the eyes focused on me at one time huh? Probably. HAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well, I guess Santa thought I had been a good girl this year, and I guess he didn't want to carry that far. But hey it works great, and I really like it. I'm thinking maybe it's the wanting everyone to watch you! LOL

Hey whatever floats your boat. If you want to buy yourself something and believe its from Santa, go for it, hehe. I have a Santa Suit, I put it on the other night, and came into the living room HoHoHo-ing and Merry Christmas. My grandsons where here. The big ones didn't let on. Well the little one went along with it too. After I changed and came back. The little one (he is almost 3 yrs.) informed me, that I was Santa Claus. Now when he sees Santa he says its me. Merry Christmas Bob, I hope its the best one ever for you and your family. I also hope you and Debbie have a wonderful time at the casino, I hope you win big too. Take care.

I wish I could do that to myself but I think I am pretty much over with Santa anymore. I outgrew that idea of santa thing and now if ever I want something for myself I do acknowledge it coming from me. But I think its nice if you still feel the rpesence of Santa in your life.

If your getting a gift from Santa every year, does that mean you have been a good boy every year? After all, only good boys and girls get presents from Santa.

I do get myself something and put it under the tree from Santa. Last year I didn't do this, and I thought my girls were going to cry. They were 4 and 5 years old at the time, and they thought Santa had forgotten me. They really didn't want to open their gifts because they thought something was wrong. I felt terrible. You know, it's just nice to know there is something under the tree for me to open. My husband and I don't exchange gifts, but I still do a stocking and small gift for each of us so it's not ONLY about the kids. This year my hubby has a "real" gift under the tree, though, that he is not expecting. I still have my dollar store Santa gift, but I'm okay with that.

Awwww. They may have thought you were on Santa's naughty list not the nice list. That's still cute though about the girls crying. Why don't you two buy each other gifts may I ask? At elast you do the stockings with him. I love the Dollar Stores. HAHAHA! Happy Holidays to you all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My husband and I started our relationship not giving gifts on Christmas, and it just hasn't changed in the 8 years we have been together. It started out the same as it is now. We both don't have a lot that we want. We are pretty content people. So, when Christmas or birthdays or anniversary come around there is not usually anything on our wish lists. We both hate throwing money away by buying gifts that are not appreciated, even though we understand that it's the thought that counts. If there is something we want we usually surprise each other with it at another time when it doesn't feel like an obligation. Now, there is something we have done in the past. That is buying a family gift for the house. One year it was a TV, one year it was a set of pots and pans. This year we haven't picked a family gift because we will be moving soon, and I am sure there will be plenty that we will discover we need as we move.

Nope you're not crazy GRANDPA BOB. I actually buy myself some little do-da gift and a special card for myself both for my birthday and for Christmas, but I just don't go quite as far as labeling the Christmas gift to myself from Santa...now you've given me a thought though for next Christmas

I've never given myself a gift from Santa, but I like the idea! I still gave my kids santa gifts even after they stopped believing. They thought it was silly, but it's part of the magic of Christmas.

Oh yes, I do the same Bob. If nobody gives me a present, then I have at leat the little thing I give myself. It is just to show to myself that I care. So I am certain that every Christmas is a good Christmas.

I do buy myself something but don't wrap and tag it. This year I got a new slow cooker for myself! I haven't gotten a chance to use it though! LOL...but everyone that comes to my house on Christmas that believes in Santa still gets their stockings filled! And sometimes they like those little gift better then the big ones!

I don't wrap presents up for myself from Santa, to tell you the truth I never thought of doing that. It's a great idea good on you for keeping up the tradition. I am guilty though of wrapping up a treat for my pets though and putting them under the tree. Before my son came along my cats were my children and in a way they still are lol. Now my son is almost 3 he's loving the whole christmas thing. Not so much the present side but he loves the christmas trees and lights that are around. Anyway merry christmas and a happy new year.
