What would your novel be about?

If you were to write a novel, what would it be about? Would you like to write a historical novel, a science fiction novel, a detective story, a love story, etc? What would its theme be? Maybe you can even tell me a little about the plot and the characters.

I am in the process of writing one right now. It is a journal style novel following the thoughts and actions of a serial killer for a year in his life. I just had a collection of my short stories published and this will be the follow up.

Nice! That sounds really interesting. And it takes me to the next question: What's the real motivation of a serial killer? Of your serial killer, in this case. Best of luck.

his reason is the break-up of his marriage due to the inability to have kids....he goes in search of the "perfect woman" to bear his child

I want to write about many subjects sooner or later. But I have a book of short stories about a child detective, coming out in the spring of 08. Granted it's through a vanity press (only costing me $50) but it's a start.

A vanity press is where you pay a book publisher to publish your book. It appears to be a regular book and thus appeals to your vanity. Most vanity press companies charge alot of money.

Right now, I would love to do a fairy tale retelling. I'm just having trouble coming up with one. I was thinking of rewriting Rumplestiltskin, or maybe trying to find a more obscure fairy tale to rework.

I think if I would ever take the time to sit and write a book it would be about the American West. I love Indians and their customs and cerimonies. It is a shame that that way of life is over. They had a good way of life. They did not have all the modern conveniences we have but they had a long life. They did not have the sickness we do until the white man came to their land. I think the Indians make great story telling material. I don't know what the plot would be off hand. I know that the main character would be a handson and brave Indian. He would have great medicine. My hero could even be a woman because some tribes had woman worriors. I think there are a lot of people who are just fasinated with the old west. Yes, if I ever took the time to write if would be about the American Indian.

That's an interesting and fascinating subject. It's a pity that so many peoples and civilizations have been destroyed along history, although they had so much to offer. I don't understand why people prefer to conquer rather than learn from those who are different from them. I hope you'll write it one day.

I am currently writing my first novel, its in the first draft phase right now. But it is about a young woman who is haunted by the dreams of a lover she has not yet met. Then she is also haunted by murders done in the method of an legendary serial killer. So far I think I like how its turning out. Just gotta stick to working on it! I would someday like to write a supernatrual romance/thriller invovling a medium

Well I wrote two in the past but they weren't good enough to get published. My formatting was bad and I need to practice my writing more. One was a teen adventure and the other adventure/romance. I am hoping to start another one that will be a mystery novel. I am trying to find my niche I guess you can say.
