Today is 24th February the anniversary of my trip around the world. It was one of the best things that I have ever done. I flew: London-Los Angeles-Hawaii-Fiji-Sydney-Adelaide overland Cairns-Darwin-Singapore-London I saw the USA, Fiji, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. My journey lasted for one year. If you went around the world which places would you like to go to? Thanks.

fiji - picture taken by my daughter when in Fiji
Must have been an amaing experience. My daughter flew on 21st February but only travelled Australia and Fiji which are places I would like to go myself. I would also like to experinece India and Eygpt. This will not happen for a few years yet as I have a very young son, but do intend to eventually and also Thailand which is where my sister in law in from. I encouraged my daughter to travel now while she is young so that when she does settle she will have experienced things rather than just wondering. I have been to your first port of call though in 1991 I went to Los Angeles. Ellie:D

You could plan a routing going to Cairo then Delhi to Bangkok then Sydney then Fiji and then back home. I am pleased that your daughter is enjoying traveling. Even though my son is young I still like to travel although it is more stressful with him than going alone. We went to Portugal last year and this year we will go to Latvia. I hope that you will travel again soon.

I managed to get to Spain with my little one last year to visit my mum. What I should have mentioned is that my daughter went like you in February but that was year before last, since then she has been to New York a couple of times, Tunisia, Cyprus, and a few other places so she definately has the travel bug like you. Enjoy Lativia. Ellie :D

Yes, Fiji is a romantic place you could be with your husband. You could visit Paris in France or the Romantic Road in Germany.

Wow, that is absolutely amazing, as I said before I really enjoy hearing about your travelling adventures, we both have the travelling spirit in us, when do you hope to go travelling again? Time really does fly doesn't it! I have no plans to travel this year, apart from going to my beloved retreat. I have a lot to sort out with myself, getting over depression, getting counseling long term and anger management. I still have in my sights Sweden, New Zealand and Southern Ireland and maybe even Turkey closer to home as it were. Travelling broadens your outlook on life as well as tasting different cultures and learning about other countries.

Yes, we both so have the traveling spirit in us. I hope that you will get a flight one summer to Stockholm and see beautiful Sweden. It would be lovely for you to get a flight to Istanbul one spring or autumn and then you could see Turkey. Southern Ireland is near home. You could get a flight to Auckland in New Zealand and maybe have Christmas there one year. It sounds like you have fantastic times at your special retreat. This June I am flying off to Latvia and hope to see Tallinn in Estonia and if I get a visa St Petersburg in Russia. In November if I have enough money I hope to go off traveling again perhaps to South Africa. Cape Town is one place I think I would really adore. I hope that your depression has lifted and that slowly but surely you get everything sorted out with your life. Traveling is something that will always be interesting seeing other landscapes, meeting the local people and seeing the native wildlife.

I would love to go on a round the world trip. Not for one year though. Maybe about two months. I realise in that shorter period of time I would be restricted in what I could see. Your chose some excellent places to visit for your trip. If I went around the world, I would love to visit Egypt, Vietnam, Moscow, Paris, Fiji, Indonesia & parts of Africa.

I hope that you go around the world one day. Two months would be long enough, after one year returning home is a bit unsettling. I think your choices of places to go are lovely. You might like to take a safari in Africa.

I went around the world in 1966, and I think if we compared notes we'd almost find two different worlds.

I have been around the world three times. My first time was in 1986 , we were away 6 months. From Sydney to ROME to MALTA to LONDON to Spain, Portugal and Morocco to LONDON through France , Germany, Poland , Russia by BUS, to Finland, Sweden and down to Denmark, to Holland. From Holland we flew to TORONTO visiting New York for three weeks, then to Vancouver. From Vancouver to Los Angeles and San Francisco, then to Hawaii, and back to Sydney.

Wow! You delighted me saying you have been around the world three times. You saw much of Europe and is it great that you went to Canada. San Francisco is one of my favorite cities that I have been to. It must have been amazing to stay in New York for three weeks. Hawaii must have been a relaxing last stop. I would love to hear about your second trip around the world.

That sounds amazing. There are many places I'd like to visit. I've been to Italy and Switzerland but would love to see more of Europe...France, England, Ireland, Netherlands... I'd also love to see the pyramids of Egypt, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, Victoria Falls, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Galapagos Islands.

I would like to go around the world from North to South. I have been fortunate to have been many places and get paid for it going East - West. From London it would have to be: Madrid - Casablanca - Gaborone (Botswana) - Cape town-Stanley - South Pole. Then Argentina - Mexico - California - Montana - British Columbia - Greenland - North Pole and then back to London via Iceland to warm up in the hot springs. I would probably take in a few other African countries too.

That sounds like a fantastic routing. You would have to take very warm clothes for the South Pole, Greenland and the North Pole. Going to Iceland to relax in the hot springs is a great idea.
