Do Blondes Have More Fun

@p1kef1sh (45681)

Well do they? We revere them for their sexiness. We laugh at them for their dumbness. Many women and men pour blonde hair dye all over their heads in a effort to look blonde. Rich men like to have a blonde on their arm, allegedly, and poor men would if they could. But does being blonde really mean that you are going to have more fun. Are you blonde, have you been blonde. Do you care? What's blonde mean to you.

True blondes have a secret code, dying your hair in order to be one just makes you less than who you are anyway. I don't know if blondes have more fun but the guys who are with them sure seem to. My wife is a brunette, they seem more down to earth. My daughter is blonde though and she is wilder than an untamed stallion, she's only 5! Pray for me.

I have never been blonde, nor do i intend to become blonde, i like my chestnut hair. I think that blondes having more fun, or being sexier is total crap. I was reading Cosmopolitan magazine this week and there were these survey results...the question was, Which hair color do you consider sexier? Well, brown was first, black second and blonde came in third! so, yah, crap. And anyways, hair color, or eye color or skin color has nothing, nothing to do with wether you have fun or are fun to be with or are sexy. It's all a state of mind.

Only the following news came to my mind as I read your discussion. The last natural blondes will die out within 200 years, scientists believe. A study by experts in Germany suggests people with blonde hair are an endangered species and will become extinct by 2202.

The first one to initiate the extinction is Marylin Monroe I think.

Blonds are considered more innocent and more able to take care of children, therefore if a man wants to have a large family in the Caucasian world, he marries a blond. Now guys will marry brunettes when the brunette is in her twenties or more likely middle or late twenties. Blonds do not have more fun when they turn blond when they are older and I mean natural turning, not by the bottle. People think I was one all my life, and am they surprised when I told them I was one of those "cold calculating brunettes who did not like children and was more interested in business". Maybe they should get rid of that stereotype as well. I love and loved children and I was not the cold calculating business type.

Hi p1kef1sh, Of course I've heard the expression a lot of times, and also heard the jokes, but I've never paid much attention, except perhaps to laugh at the jokes. I've never been attracted to blonds any more then any other hair colour. Since a lot of men appear to be attracted to blonds, maybe that's why they're said to have more fun. I often wonder where the jokes got started, since I really don't see hair colour having anything to do with being intelligent. Since they're so popular, maybe most don't feel the need to be smart lol. Blessings.

My mom calls my natural hair color dishwater blonde, me I call it mousy light brown, But I have had my hair dyed blonde and frosted(to much frost and it al looked blonde) And I can honestly say I didn't have as much fun as when I have it dyed a red. Red now I had alot more fun. I have let my natural color come all back in and I am wanting to get another red dye to pert me back up. I also feel more confident with red hair. Alot of guys always chase the blondes and they never know what they are really missing with a brunette or a red head.. Who I am sure have alot more fun it's just not as out there as some blondes. Do some blondes think that it gives them a go to act all out there just because the color of their hair and that they can blame it on the hair? Well, for me I will stick to the red tones of hair color.

That is true, altough just like red hair gives me confidence maybe the blondes get their confidence because it makes them feel good and they have more confidence to be able to do the things they want that they couldn't with other color hair. If you think you look good that gives you a confidence and makes you more outgoing and more acceptable and likely to have more fun then when you feel selfconsious and dowdy, So maybe in that fact is why blondes have more fun.

I was a blonde, before I went gray.... I didn't have more fun, I didn't have a lot of boyfriends. I wasn't really friendly, didn't go out because I don't like smoking, the bar scene or any of those things. I'd rather stay home and read a book or watch TV. Of course, I also didn't make a huge effort to put on make up and look pretty either.

I started getting gray hair when I was 21. So I started dying my hair blonde. About 2 years ago, I decided I was middle aged trying to look like I wasn't so I went with the darker color, but now I regret that decision and want to go back to blonde. When to the salon yesterday to find out how much that might cost me. $214!!!!!! You have got to be kidding me. The day I spend $214 on a dye job, is the day I don't. Still searching though for a cheaper place, I'm determined to go back to the lighter color.

Please talk to my wife. If she could get away with $214 I would be a very happy man!! Why is it that I spend about $16 on a haircut, but women's hairdressers charge ten times that amount and all you get extra is a cup of coffee and asked where are you going on your holidays, or a hear a litany of abuse aimed at their current boyfriend.

Before saying anything, I just want to let you know that I'm a brunette! (LOL) Of course, I get blonde highlights each summer because I think they look great and make me look even more tan. It's a nice "summer look," if you know what I mean. That probably sounds pathetic, but at least now you know where I'm coming from on this discussion. I have a sister who's very blonde in more ways than one. Her hair is a dirty blonde. It's more or less just a light shade of brown with natural blonde highlights. She's very lucky that she doesn't have to pay for those! (LOL) In another aspect, she's also very blonde. A friend of mine and I have this on-going "joke," (which we believe to be quite true) where we always refer to "blonde" as "a state of mind, not just a hair color." It's true! I think a "blonde" nowadays refers to much more than just hair color! I think "blonde" actually means "ditz" to some people. I mean this as unoffensively as possible, of course. I'm not a natural blonde or anything, but I've had my share of blonde moments a.k.a. brain farts. (LOL) My sister, on the other hand, has daily or even hourly blonde moments, leading us to believe that on top of hair color, she really is a true blonde. I just think the hair color seems to excentuate the fact that a person is blonde. I've also met guys we were pretty blonde also. It's funny, though, since guys are much better at hiding it. So anyway, to answer your question, blondes do have fun, but I really don't think they have more fun than anyone else. They just perceive things completely differently than everyone else. It's like you have to break things down for them so they can understand. Of course, where would this world be without them! They're very funny. I don't consider myself a blonde in the "state of mind" aspect since I'm usually pretty level-headed, and it doesn't take me long to catch on to things. I think it's all about stereotyping. I'm even guilty of it myself. I don't want to judge every blonde person (physically blonde, I mean) as a ditz. That's not so. I've met so many smart individuals who just so happened to be blonde. There's a fine line between truth and stereotype here. They have fun, but they also add color and diversity to the world. After all, there's got to be someone who doesn't understand the joke right off the bat. Otherwise, who would we have to explain them to after the fact? (LOL) Great discussion.

Thanks for your comment. It made me chuckle because I was trying to visualize what you were saying about wearing 4-inch heels to make a personal taller. I'm 3 or 4 inches shy of 6 feet tall, but I've worn those cloggy things, too, and it's quite the entertainment watching someone walk in them! Excellent analogy to the fact that just because people change things about them (such as appearance) doesn't mean they can change who they really are. Thus, "blondeness" is most certainly based on "a state of mind" and not a hair color. Thank you again for your comment. It was very pleasant to read!

I think that whilst colouring your hair may be fun, and give you a temporary high, it is what you are inside that really counts. I don't think that you natural hair colour effects things at all. I wold like to be 4 inches taller. I could get my shoes built up, but apart from walking like Frankenstein, I would brake my ankle and regret the whole episode. Better to stay shorter and more cheerful by being who I really am. A short idiot! Thank you for your great response. You clearly gave this a lot of thought.

Nope, not blonde. I was blonde once, but I didn't like it, so I changed back, pretty quickly. My own hair is brown with a lot of red in it and I like it that way. Oh yes, and some gray, but not too much. I doubt you'll see any on the webcam. I'm not sure what it is about blondes that people find so attractive, but it's been going on forever, and I don't see it changing any time soon. I don't assume that because someone's blonde, she's dumb, though, never have. I see beauty in everyone, hair color aside. Sounds silly maybe, but it's true. I happen to like dark hair, especially in men. Maybe it harkens back to the days when I was so in love with Elvis, when I was a kid. I used to have his pictures plastered all over my bedroom walls. His and the Beatles, and they're all dark-haired too. And I'll never go blonde again, that's for sure. I like my hair color, it goes with my eyes and my freckles. And I even like the gray. I've earned every single one of them, you know.

pikes...I have to thank you for keeping reminding that it is not the hair color. as I read, I mostly see humour. It is all funny but the ones that are serious...well those are the ones that I've had to deal with. Sadly some people do seriously think blondes are just dumb idiots. I am so spacy and ive come to realize we all can be. I worked at a company once and I was very very good at what I did. My boss actually suggested I dye my hair in order to be taken more seriously. this was about 20 years ago. now a days he'd be sued for that. Even sadder...I did it and it worked.

When I was in grade one my hair was very fine and very blonde. My twin brother's hair was very blonde too. Well by the time I was in grade one I could already read far above grade level, whereas my brother couldn't. Guess who still got all the kudos for every little accomplishment? No me. Seems being a female blonde is a stereotype that comes with birth, whereas most male blondes are considered gods and to be worshipped. As I grew and hormones changed the blonde went strawberry and finally after puberty red. And I am NOT and never have been dumb - or buxum! lol The point being, that it just galls the hell out of me when blondes are treated like bubble heads, because after all, they are people too and just as smart, funny and inventive. That some choose to perpetuate the stereotype is bad for blondes I agree, but rather smart for them too if it gets them what they want. I say again: Hillary Clinton is blonde. I rest my case.

I am anything but a blond.I have wild curly dark brown hair.I ask the world what is the big deal about blonds.Hair color is just hair color that doesn't mean they are more sexy or have more fun.I guess society has always lifted up the blond's for beauty.I think beauty is only skin deep and besides what about the face and body.I have seen blond women that wasn't even that pretty but the guys went crazy anyway because they had blond hair. All I get left to say is hair color doesn't make the person.Of course you can't help being attracted to what you like.I my self like dark hair and will notice a man 5 times faster if his hair is dark.Point is beauty is in the eye of the beholder but still in the end hair color is only root deep. What happens when the blond fades your left to deal with the real person under all the blond goodness.

I've never experienced being blonde, p1kef1sh, but to me it's more often than not a personal choice. I really don't agree that blondes have more fun than women with any other hair color. It is a preference with some men just like bust size, height, etc. The fact that a person is born blonde is a good thing, but I have a hard time understanding why anyone would work so hard to give the appearance that they are something that they are not.

I am a natural blonde. Do I have more fun than others? I really do not think so but it is true that many men want a blonde on their arm. Hair color has no influence on how much fun you have or how stupid you are. I know many dark haired women that are a blast to be around. As far as blondes being dumb, I take great offense at that. Blonde jokes do not bother me as I know they are just that, jokes, but to say blondes are dumb is entirely untrue. At the age of 40, I went back to school and graduated at the top of my class with a 4.0 average. I studied accounting and was hired by the college to tutor other students while I was in classes there. Many of the students that I tutored were dark haired women, so to say that hair color has anything to do with a person's intelligence is entirely untrue. I do realize, however, that you are referring to the generalizations that are rampant in society.

It was lovely when she dyed it back to her natural colour as she became herself again which at times was a bit dizzy but happy again which was lovely to see. Ellie :D
