Read the last item especially. This guy wants to be our President and control our government. Pay close attention to the last comment!! Below are a few lines from Obama's books " his words: From Dreams of My Father: "I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites." From Dreams of My Father : "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race." From Dreams of My Father: "There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white." From Dreams of My Father: ; "It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names." From Dreams of My Father: "I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela." From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Did you read those lines from an actual book in your hands or did you read them from a website that said those lines are in those books?

Perhaps you should stop being so trustworthy of this friend, then. She gave you out-of-context quotes. People are easy to fool - that's why you crosscheck information you get from them.

Thank you RevDauphinee, for providing out of context quotes to slander the character of a man. To prove just how full of it you are, let me provide with with a more accurate quote for that last quote you provided. "Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." -Barack Obama, The Audacity of Hope, pg. 261 He was referring to America's treatment of foreigners after national tragedies. In the wake of Pearl Harbor we rounded up Japanese immigrants and put them in internment camps. In the wake of 9-11, innocent Muslims faced a backlash from fellow citizens, as many were attacked or accused of being terrorists - all because of their religious affiliation. Exactly what is wrong with a candidate who would stand up and defy the government if it chose to treat Muslims in the wake of 9-11 the same way it treated the Japanese after Pearl Harbor? Oh, I forgot, you hate Islam. I shouldn't be surprised if you saw something wrong with someone standing up for Muslims in the face of religious persecution. How many of your other quotes are purposely out of context to cast this candidate in a dark light, hmm?

"Don't get PO'ed just because someone makes a good point! Fact: The Koran DOES state or I might say command Islam to kill the infidels if they will not convert! It's there and you or no one else can change it! As far as Barack's words in his book are concerned they can be interpreted either way and for me I won't take a chance on the negative side!" So you are trying to start a culture war. Typical - drive the topic of conversation into the ground by making unnecessary accusations. If it's beyond your level of intellect to stick to the topic, then there's no point in conversing with you.

I find it interesting that he was raised by his White grandmother and abandoned by his black father. Did he learn that by being Black he could get more for himself? He receintly said the he lived on Food stamps for a while with his single mother and received scholarships to attend college. It concerns me that he considers his grandmother a racist, and his father seems to be his hero. Whites were there when he was abandoned by the blacks and gave him his start in life. When he announced that he was running for president he said he was doing it a s a black. He could have said he was the new American as he is half white and half black and and he is the one to being usall together. He is all for being the Black American President for the blacks and ignoringthe White Americans.

This is why we need to learn more about this man and his positions. For someone who has "strong Beliefs" to vote present over 100 times shows a weakness. To vote present means that you find someone who has the opposite point of view and you vote together but no one knows your position for or against the law.

Thank you for bringing this out. Most people will probably never read his books but his views expressed in them should indeed be considered by anyone who plans to vote. However, it is not news to me. I think everything about the man screams Muslim.

What I want to know is where are all of our liberal friends in this discussion? Where are you Lisan, Jormins, Anniepa, Hawaii? These are not words from "biased" websites but actual quotes from the man, Barack Obama, himself! I guess if you can't run with the big dogs you might as well stay on the porch!! Just how blind can you liberals be?

Come on Rodney, you already know what they'll say. They'll just go on about how we are intentionally taking words out of context and that these words have some "obvious and innocent" meaning that we are choosing to ignore. Just like every other ignorant statement said by Obama, his wife, and his pastor.

I have a hard time understanding why he has made it this far. It is very scary what our nation could be comming to, no matter who gets elected and especially if Obama does.

OK, you've brought up something interesting about a potential presidential candidate. It's worth asking him more strenuuosly about his belief system. Although I'm probably not in agreement with you on a few issues, I support the fact that you've brought up something quite important and you have my support for bringing the questions up about the candidate.

I hope he never becomes president. He will further divide the races, and there will be a race war. To make one race more or one color more important than another is wrong. To disregard his mother and her ethnic group is evil. I am not black, I am white and I am proud that I am part German, Austrian, English, and Welsh in spite of Adolph Hitler and Obama's mother was not guilty of racism. AFter all, had she been she would not have married Obama's father.
