I have wanted to share this photograph ever since I returned from my trip to Gangtok [in the eastern Himalayas]. We could see the majestic peak of Kanchenjenga from out hotel room and my God the impact!!! It was really wonderful. I have never seen the like of it ever because I have not really traveled that much. This year I had the opportunity to be blessed with such a trip and here is a photograph of the imposing peak, the third highest peak of the Himalayas-the peak in the right hand corner. Do share what you found mind blowing.

Once on 1999, I went with my husband through a scenic route in Vermont, New England during fall. I had never come across such a lovely scene till now. But my only disappointment is that, we didn't take our camera along and so those colourful scenery is only still etched in memory. I would love to have another view like that(and take some shots with my camera too). Till that time, I thought that the pictures on paintings came from imagination. But that glorious beauty made me realise that people can only copy such beauty from nature!!

What a lovely photo. I think the most amazing thing I have seen on land was my first glimpse of the village of Mazatlan, Mexico a little before dawn when the mist from the ocean blended with the light from the street lamps to make an amazing light show. It was heavenly. The next most amazing thing was looking down at the top of thick clouds from the window of an airplane with the sky above illuminated by a perfect big round full moon. I had seen the tops of clouds before, standing on a mountain top with the sun shining brightly in the morning, but never at night from an airplane. That was eerie.

There is always something that leaves a lasting impression on my mind. It could be something as simple as a quirky cloud formation or as great as a snow covered forest of trees. To me, sometimes after I snap a picture I noticed how some of the life and intrigue has left. It's not the same as experiencing it with your own eyes. Yes, a photo can look just as breathtaking, but looking at it through your eyes heightens the sensation.

True .I can understand what you say.It is the same difference we feel after comparing a film which had been read as a novel. Occasionally, there are some shots which look more attractive on a picture than the real thing. Probably it has something to do with the technique. For e.g I saw one tiny bug which looked quite nondescript seen in real but when the same thing was photographed it looked totally different. Thank you for the response.

Wow from what you are saying it sounds amazing. I would love to go there and see it for myself. For me it was the fog at munnar. It was very nice and chilly out there with lots of fog. ~Pinks~

Seeing the ocean in California for the first time was incredible. It was day break and everything smelled so clean .. and there it was, walking off the boardwalk and into the sand. The first time my boys saw it they were so shocked; they had seen beaches and the ocean before but never one that looked so pristine and perfect.

Thank you for the response. It is a pleasure to see clean beaches. When I ws young I thought that all beaches would be clean [having seen only Chennai Marina beach[which is very famous for its pristine purity] and was trribly disillusioned when I saw the famous Juhu in Mumbai 30 years ago. The sand is black and that itself adds to the misery. I have not seen this after that and I do not know if Juhu has changed now.

It is nice to hear about your family trip to the himalaya and good to see the breathatking snap of Kanchenjunga. It reminds me of a trip to Dauladhar range in Himachal Pradesh few years ago. I went with my then college and treked till Triund and abit further from there to see the dauladhar range. When we reached there I was awestruck by the natural beauty of the mountain and refreshed by the serene and pure breeze of the mountain. Unfortunately I don't have any photos to upload.

Oh!I know how it is to go with friends. It would be unforgettable. I am not really familiar with these places but my son would be able to place them immediately. In fact my son made his first trip to the Himalayas when he was just about to finish his graduation ..He went to Dalhousie, Dharamshala and a host of other places and was very insistent that we should go there the next year.It seems he also went on some treks and was so impressed by the scenery there. This year we went to Gangtok. Thanks for the response.

I visited the Grand Canyon Years ago,and took a flight with the Grand Canyon Airline...I'll never forget flying low over scrub desert terrain and the feeling as we flew out over the canyon Rim and suddenly there was a Mile of a drop below the plane! That Rocky Desert Landscape imagery has stayed with Me...

When I travelled to Canada there are sceneries that amazed me much. One such scenery is a lake, some of its surface is covered with snow and it is surrounded by mountains also with its peak covered with snow on a bright blue sky. That's a nice photo. Thanks for sharing it here.

very beautiful touched by God himself and formed to perfect beauty. yes I have seen some miracle breath taking places myself. SO perfect that no individual could imagine such beauty. Bermuda the Island itself is a beauty and breath taking from one end to the other. If you have never been there I really recommend it.I live in the United states and there is so much beauty here that is totally breath taking. Form the Alps to the rivers Through the rockies to the flat lands in Florida. The beaches here are some of the most recognized across the world. The desserts in New Mexico is phenomenal. Any country or place you live, you can find some really breath taking scenaries to see and the sunsets across the world is something we all share and can say that has touched us all. Night time the stars and moon we see is given to us all to share and gaze at in wonder. Have you ever thought about how much in common we all are? The things we all share and the one place we all call our home, Earth. With that being said I wish to all my brothers and sisters across this planet we call home a Happy blessed day and to all Mothers out there happy mothers day!!!!!!!

I am actually from Philippines. And since I haven't been outside my country I guess the best would the white islands in Brgy, Britanya , San Augustine, Surigao del Sur. There is an island of pure sand, the other in nicely colored pebbles (green, orange, etc) more like crystals smoothened by the sea. Also I like the small caves and the bath-tub-like limestone formations. the surrounding sea is reach in seafood, you could even one for your own FREE! The island also gets connected by sand bridges created by the folks during low tide there so you could just walk around truly island hopping. The place is not well known that why its great coz you can relax with the beauty of nature without the noise of the common city streets.

I guess your son would know it as mentioned in my earlier response. Just would like to add that it is way up from Dharamsala, near small town called Mcleodganj. Yeah you should try that side of Himachal and uttaranchal.
