She did what?

Hersheys - Part of my stash of chocolates

Most my friends here know that I am a chocoholic. Well actually a candyholic is more like it. I love my chcoclate first and foremost though. I bought an 8 pack of Hershey Bars today. I had eaten a few already. My wife walked into the computer room tonight smiling at me. I asked her what you want now? She giggled saying, "I'm on the hunt for chocolate." I laughed as she is not a big chocolate eater. She knew I had the Hersheys but just not where as I tend to stash my treasures so noone else eats them unless I know. Lord only knows what would happen if I didn't have it here when I knew I did recently. I gave her a bar and she sat watching the Country Music Awards eating away. Do you stash your treats of any kind to be sure you always know you have at least a little left for you in case someone else in the family or even friends finds it and eats it? I had to do that with my mother. Now I admittedly have just a slight sweet tooth, and do from time to time like to have something sweet, not too much as I do have a blood sugar problem.. but my mother..yikes. After one incident occurred years ago, after that, any sweets I brought into the place I had to hide. Some years ago, I bought a lot of goodies from Swiss Colony including a heck of a lot of petit fours...about 200 of them...the idea being that I used to make decorative gift baskets with all kind of yummies for Christmas gifts and it was my plan to use up a lot of the petit fours as part of the gift baskets.. Lets just say my mother had other ideas. Now these petit fours are rather luscious...and very rich. I could only eat about one or two. Uh, my mother on the other hand would gobble them up like crazy then wonder she was holding her stomach with pain with gastritis..sheesh. So then I thought, well maybe to deter her from eating so many at a time, would pop the petit fours into the freezer...nope that didn't work either. Out of the 200 petit fours I think I only ate about 15...the rest my mother ate, and needless to say, since she ate them all had none for my gift baskets--so after that if I got anything sweet, I used to sneak it in and hide them in my closet so she couldn't get to it

We usually have a full candy dish beside the computer, and 2 on bookshelves in the living room and also a bowl in the kitchen for treats.. We do have to have our treats, as does anyone else visiting.. I also have to keep a separate bowl of Starlight mints for the dog, as we have to give her one each day before we go out the door, if we don't she will tear something or the other up before we get home..

I offer these treats to others but I have to make sure I stash some as I can get cranky without my sugar fix. Cute a dog that loves those starlights. I love them as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Oh yes, definitely! Our two adult kids (ages 27 and 25) still live here, and we buy all the groceries and they also don't pay any bills around here (so they should have plenty of money for their own treats).. So things I buy for hubby''s lunches and any treats I buy for myself or him, go in our room. As otherwise they wouldn't last a minute! I have hiding places in the fridge too, which they may know of, but know why they're there..

They both live at home still at that age? Curiosity question, are they both employed? just curious is all. My son lived at home till he was 25 I think. he worked and paid rent though. Well sometimes he paid. That's why he isn't living here right now. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have more than a sweet tooth drool. I am a certified junk food junkie. I am really trying to cut down, but it is not easy. I try to keep from storing anything. I just get things from friends when I visit them. as long as I do not buy it for myself, I do pretty good.

I have a doctorate in junk foodology myself. I eat cakes, donuts, cheesecakes, anything fried and or baked that's sweet like it's the last treat I'll ever get in my life. I've been known to eat a whole cheesecake by myself in a few hours time. This is the truth. My cholesterol is high, very high due to this addiction/crave. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I keep a stash of stuff hidden from my son, so he will not eat it all. Or I should say I DID have a stash. He found it a few weeks ago and went crazy.

I certainly do Grandpa Bob!! I have four children, can you imagine what it would be like for me if I did not have my very own little stash. Not forgetting of course my hubby who is also a little piggy when he wants to be!! I am not a huge choccie lover or sweetie lover, but I do treat myself to some choccie once a week which I stash and then eat when the kids are in bed and then I buy those low fat cereal bars which are yummy and they get stashed too.

LOL I get great deals on candy after every holiday and I always have a bunch here. I don't hoard it, I tend to pass it out freely. We don't eat too much of it, so it will just go to waste if I don't be generous with it. I eat a Hershey bar about every night, but I have a file box full of other stuff.! .

There have been times I have gotten a lot of candy for gifts around various Holidays. Not lately though. But this year I was on a hunt for colored and flavored ribbon candy. My daughter surprised me with 2 boxes as a gift. Thanks Minnie again. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Ah, you know a way to a woman's heart! And just like a woman, she didn't want any until she knew you had some! You're very nice to share. I live alone, but when I was a kid I'd hide any candy I had from my sister. Trouble was, she always found it!

I'm not a big chocolate eater either but when I buy it, I like to make sure that I get some of it. I have to hide some away sometimes if I expect to have company because some of the company will help themselves until it is all gone without even asking me for it. I hide some to make sure I have some for later. that is awful but the truth.

Hehehe, no we don't usually have a stash. We usually just let everyone eat it. However I don't like people buying chocolate. It's bad to eat so much, and I don't like to, but my family keeps on buying it. Grr. It's just not fair. Pablo

Munching on chocolate - She loved chocolate at this time as much as I do.
It was so cute seeing her little eyes rolling as she said "I'm hunting for chocolate." Here she is eating it while watching TV. I tried to get the shot as she took a piece of it in her mouth but she was too quick. Guess she LOVED it as much as I did. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

It's 11:30 or so right now here at night and the winds are still kicking at about 20MPH and the temp is about 55 so still a little bite in the air. I keep my 3 Muskateers in the freezer as I make hot chocolates with them. Otherwise most other chocolates get placed in the fridge. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I'm also a chocoholic. I always stash my chocolates as i'm not the only one that loves them in the house. I hide them so i'll be sure to have some when the urge hits, which is usually late at night when the stores are closed. My kids like to joke and say i act like an addict when i dont have any chocolate at night. I swear it seems as if i'm going through withdrawal, when i run out of chocolate bars and can't get one.

Who doesn't like chocolate, for me the darker the better. I just discovered how to make smores in the microwave and I make them with the special dark bar so one night is more than enough to satisfy me and still be heart healthy.

I used to hide my chocolates from my siblings... because if i don't... they will be gone before i even say "Watchamaculit"... they also love chocolate... but i love it more... but now that we are older... my sister who lives in Texas would always send us a big box full of assorted chocolates... and there is one box that is reserved only for me...

Sounds like the reverse here, I am the chocolate/candy eater and my husband is not, well, not as much as I am.. And we both hide our stash..In fact I found a stash of a chocolate bar in my bag last night, it was one of those big Hershey bar, but only about 1/4 of it is left, so I am telling no one..

Chocolate lover that you are who can resist a Hersheys bar. The are good melt in your mouth good. I like chocolate and would eat it on the regular if i could but i don't get to eat it everyday. I like to keep them in the frig to keep them from melting or going soft. I like the cold block taste. Just don't over eat pace yourself when it come to chocolate it can get you if your not careful.
