Wanna see my smiling face?

In my case, I don't have a digital camera or a computer graphic pic of myself. I probably don't intend to do anything like that any time soon.

what maes me more nervous.. is when people give me their pics and want a comment on them. its all fine and good if the person is attractive.. i can come up with a plethora of decent compliments and the person is satisfied. what about when the person is genuinely hideous to look at? ya know.. like jaba the hut or something? no offense to those of you that bear a resemblance to the hut.. of course. but i have a very difficult time in finding something complementary when im put on the spot like that. then people get angry when i dont respond the way they wish for me to.. i cant lie worth a damn really, and people get very upset with me over this trait. but my friends know hat if their a55 looks horrible in them jeans.. i WILL tell them so rather than let them go out into public and be ridiculed. if someone asks me "do i look good?" and they really dont.. im not going to placate and pacify so their esteems are salvaged.. it isnt in me to do the way ive seen others do and fawn all over someone, and then talk smack behind their backs tearing them down. you already know i think yer adorable and love you oh so much.. and i wouldnt say that if it wasnt how i truly felt.. so relax.. yer beautiful, inside and out.

I actually found this from your page! SO I saw them before I saw this. When I went to leave a comment I found we are not friends ! GASP! So please accept my request!! You are a lovely person! Not what I would have guessed if I had to, but quite 'right' nonetheless!

Thanks for sharing your photo. Your courage to reveal yourself to us pictorially gets my admiration. You have a very warm and radiant smile, and that makes you come across as a friendly approachable person. Anyway, that's not surprising, since we can feel your presence like this even getting a glimpse of how you look in real life. Well hello there. I don't think I'll get the guts to post a picture of myself yet. Maybe one of these days. But good job. I pictured you different. I don't know with longer dark hair or something. Yeah I know how you feel because like I said I don't have the guts to put my picture out there. You must have been nervous when you did that. But you finally did it and that's all behind you now.

I've had my photo up from the first (my avatar) so I really never had the chance to get nervous about what others would think. I get more nervous about seeing people in person; even if I know them and just haven't seen them in awhile.

Ok, do you want my honest, honest opinion? Well first of all I have to say it's about time, we got to see you and secondly, wait for it, I think you look beautiful, no seriously I am not fooling here, seeing your picture you come over bubbly, electric and very very warm, the kind of person I'd personally want to know, and for that matter glad I know! I don't know what you were worried about, truly, but I guess I can relate to how you feel deep deep down, I am very self conscious about my looks and my body and I find compliments slip over me and criticism I soak up like a sponge, I guess it's through being bullied for most of my early life. But listen to Wolfie and listen to Wolfie good I think you are lovely, and I am proud to have you as a friend xxx

Nova, Great pictures, though for some reason I was thinking you had long dark hair that flowed loose, and loose, hippy clothing! I was totally wrong, but very pleasantly surprised. My avatar really IS me, although circa November 2005. Thanks for being brave and sharing your picture!

Good for you. I think it takes a bit of bravery to post your own pics in a place where other people may judge you. I haven't posted my pics because I prefer to keep just a bit of anonymity on the internet. I use the same handle pretty much anywhere so there are bound to be people who know me IRL that will eventually see me here and know who I am, but that's not too big a deal for me.

I saw that you added your pic to facebook just the other week. It is so great to put a face to the name! :D I almost always post a pic of myself on sites right away, so I don't have to deal with the fear of someone not knowing what I look like and coming up with their own ideas. So I really cannot relate to you there. However, I do get a bit nervous when meeting someone in person, even though they've seen lots of pics of me. I feel I photograph better than I look in person you see. lol. Maybe we can meet someday and you can tell me. ;)

hi novataylor You look just like I thought you would, you are pretty and lively and fun to be around and I love you hair. Me I am elderly and white haired and do not take a very good photo. You look like a person who gets a large 'charge out of life, and thats a wonderful way to look, believe me.

I already knew you were gorgeous inside and out honey but it is so good to see a close up of your beautiful smiling face and those sparkly, warm eyes! The last time I saw you on camera I didn't get a good look at your face but I am glad I have gotten to now! I hate photographs of myself - a few people have seen some and haven't recoiled in horror but I still hate seeing my own photos which is probably why I don't post them! Hugs xxx

Hi Nova, you look fabulous. That really is a beautiful smiling face and I am so pleased to have seen the warmth I have felt from you for real in your face. What a darling. For me when I first joined my original avatar was a pic I had of myself and my eldest daughter so I have never experienced this feeling of being nervous but for someone who has always had an avatar and no pics I can imagine how you must have felt. i totally agree i think everyone feels that way everyone has things they would like to change about their self but people that judge you on what you look like are not worth knowing. i think its what your like on the inside that counts and it shines through. :)
