Dang Weeds - Too funny I don't take care of these weeds

Okay I responded to a discussion about gardening and weeding etc earlier. Now I am the type that is in and out of the house all day doping gardening of all aspects including weeding. Now my gardens look nice as they get weeded often. but why is it that I do not take care of the weeds that grow in the cement slab cracks and along the driveway etc? They make the drive etc unpleasant at times as they are now. Guess now I'll have to get some weed killer this weekend to kill off these unwanted native plants. HAHAHA! have you got a garden full of driveway weeds? Do you pick them from the cracks or spray them with something to kill them off. I usually use Roundup with the pump attatched. Works great but have to be careful not to get it on plants as they die just as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It's a vine that creeps through the grass etc..fuzzy little leaves and purple flowers....but it's a total menace....especially in my landscaping....it comes right through the rocks and crawls all over!

I just got my driveway paved about 3 months ago and grass starting coming through at the end of it about a month after it was done. I bought some Roundup a couple of days ago to spray on it and kill it. It just doesn't seem like grass should be coming through it that quick.

Boiling hot water of brown vinegar will get rid of those weed in the cement and not be as harmful as Roundup would bee. You may have to use it a couple of times but it doesn't cost as much as the roundup will.

I don't want to do anything as far as those go is the problem. But most are not near any of my flowers etc so Roundup will be used if and when I decide to erradicate those devils. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My driveway is gravel with kind of a weedy patch that goes down the middle. It doesn't really bother me too much but other people might not like it. As long as my lawn is mowed and the grass trimmed, I will let those weeds be. I'm going to try to sell my house next year though I dont know what others will think about it.

before you have possible buyers see the house clear those weeds. I know that it would drive me away slightly seeing the weeds etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have loads of weeds in my garden, they are growing quite large actually and need to be taken care of but with having the garden done we have not done it yet. They are a pain, they seem to just spring into forests overnight, they grow so fast and spread like wildfire.

Well that's the reason I am outside daily doing weeding. I like my garden looking nice. Plus the weeds will take to the roots of some plants stunting their growth. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

lol My driveway is looking more and more like a weed-filled yard than a gravel drive. I can't afford any weed killer for my drive so it's going hog wild with the green stuff. My gardens and flower beds look nice thou without much weeds being I'm always on top of it with the hoe.

I only grow organic so I pull them. Round-Up leaves residual salts in the soil. I can save you some $$. Vinegar might work. If not boiling water should do the trick.

Hi Bob, first I have to determine if I have a driveway. It turns out that I have neither a car nor a driveway. :) All I have a cement covered car porch, where I tie the dog up (she loves it more than a car would). But the rest of my garden is slowly covering up with weeds and grass coz we are having the monsoons right now, and the rains won't let us garden as much as we used to in summer. It is quite a task keeping the weeds in check. At the same time, it is a lovely time to plant the seeds and watch the seedlings rise from the moist ground. Recent arrivals are a group of green gram plants. The tomato plants are a bit grown up now. :) Cheers and happy mylotting

I pull them just like I pull the other weeds. I am so enendated with all the weeds right now. WE have some ground cover that is a weed that needs to be plucked on a daily basis. I have been doing my best but not been able to keep up with them.

It just depends on how bad they have gotten. Sometimes we pick the weeds and other times we also get the roundup and my son sprays them.

hi Grandpa Bob yep one big weed patch,my 101 kinds of weeds in a patch of soil surrounding our concrete patio. Iwould love to have it cultivated so I could grow something nice there instead of weeds but I cannot do the digging up myself. and my son seems less than interested in it at all. course he works a full work week and is pooped when he gets home. Because I was made a bionic woman two years ago due to a bad fall and a smashed shoulder,Ihave never got back even half of the use of my left arm. I had a lot of physical therapy too, but did not help much.So I still have my 101 different Ca weed variety garden lol

I won't use chemicals, but I do need to get out there and tend to the driveway. It's a mixture of gravel and small river rock, but the weeds are still pretty thick. I won't get rid of everything since the bunnies like it so much, but there are some taller ugly things that apparently taste as bad as they look, so I will go pull those. In fact, we had a good rain in the middle of the night so the ground is soft, so I think I'll go pull a few right now.

Our driveway is dirt and it does have some grass but oddly enough no weeds.
