So I went this morning back to surgeon for check up. And I thought for sure he would send me to rehab. He said not for another month. Im healing good except for spasms in the back of my neck and he gave me a script for muscle relaxers. He said I will experience the spasms for awhile. So have you ever been dissapointed when going to the doctor?

I forgot to add glad ya are feeling better now as well. Take it easy and do some PT lightly when there's no pain and maybe no rehab will not be needed. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Aww honey I am sorry that you have had this delay but better waiting a little while than doing more damage because you started rehab before you were ready too! I have been disappointed a few times in the last few years sweety - the worst was when I went in for my surgery , waited in admissions lounge for 3 hours only to be told my surgery was cancelled as there was a shortage of beds - that was devestating as I was all ready to go and they told me it could be months before they fitted me in! Luckily they sent me to a different hospital where I had the surgery 2 weeks later! xxx

Hi terry. Sorry you're not able to start rehab. Maybe you'll heal so well you won't even need to go! Now wouldn't that be great news? My greatest doctors dispapointments have been when a doctor has disregarded things I've said. Like I go in with concerns and they just brush it off. Sometimes I don't think doctor's are thorough enough. Yours certainly sounds like he is. Good luck!

yes, recently it seems all the time! i have a lot of pain with my knees and the only thing that several doctors that i have seen can recommend is either narcotics or surgery, but they dont want to do surgery because i am too young...sigh, i have to go back on friday...

Good that your healing very nicely, Terry. However, instead of using the muscle relaxers, have your hubby gently massage the area affected with his thumbs. It will hurt a lil at first but then the spasms will stop because the massaging will relax and loosen the muscles up. Gently thou so as not to irritate the surgery site. Don't want him pressing down hard and possibly reinjuring your neck.

Healing takes time. I had a hip replacement a couple of years ago and I was very active, running, biking, playing sports, now I have to "take it easy" HA! I've taken the advice of my sawbones and cut back on pounding my hips to dust but I'm bionic so watch out world! You should give your neck all the time it needs, don't rush something because you want to heal faster. Spasms are common, its just the muscles getting used to sitting still, they don't want to, but you should.

Is this a trick question? LOL! Up until now I have had some disappointing results from my visits to the doctors and therapy. Lately though I have been hopeful that what the doctor says is true. He states that the pain in my neck is from the bulging disc and that it will eventually get better. It is not all in my head.

I am so sorry. Those spasms are awful. I have been disappointed in my doctor so I moved my chart to another doctor. Two or three years ago my doctor forgot to tell me I had a spot on my lung. My family was not aware either so I know he didn't tell me. Somehow I ingested a mold spore. It's not serious and I have no problems but he forgot! I was done with the guy and did like him. Wasn't going to chance another mistake. Feel better, carolbee

I'll make this brief. I had a lump on my left wrist long ago. It got to where I couldn't even hold an empty cup without pain or dropping it. I went to see a general surgeon. I picked one at random from the phone book. His name, Dr. R.J. Olson. That's my name as well so I figured cool. Well I had exploratory surgery done and a biopsy of the lump. He went out of State soon after the surgery. After calling his office a few times they refused to tell me anything about the biopsy of the lump that was removed from my wrist. They said it was confidential information. HELLO! It's my confidentiality not yours. So I ended up waiting over a week to find out it was just scar tissue from a previous broken arm/wrist. Scared me thinking cancer and all because the Dr office refused to tell me anything. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Are the spasms bothering you a lot? I'm on muscle relaxers for muscle spasms but they don't seem to help me. I'm always disappointed when I go to the doctor. It seems once I got on Medicaid's doctor list the doctors ceased to care. I'm so glad though he isn't sending you to rehab too soon. That would be all you needed!

Yes, I have been disappointed by my doctor. I was expecting him to release me so I could return to work. He said No, not for another two weeks. Arrgghhh!! Oh well, I suppose it was all for the best. I am now back at work...........finally.

Sometimes yes, I have been disappointed. I am glad that I have a nice family doctor that has been taking care of me really nicely, and before her I had one that I loved even more, but I remember some years back when I came up with this chronic hives things and was in half panic all the time because I didn't know what was causing the allergy so I couldn't prevent it. I had anaphylactic shock where my mouth, tongue and throat started swelling until I could barely breathe and obviously was scared, but the doctor could only come up with is patronizing ways" I know better. Don't worry. believe me you will know if you're having it again since you won't be able to breathe. bla- bla-bla" Thanks. But I really would prefer to know if I was going to be unable to breathe before that actually happened. Like know if I needed to use the epi-pen before being unable to do it. SO I dropped him:) And the next one. The third one listened to me, really listen, explained to me how things worked and even gave me a rule of thumb to access if I should use the epi=pen or not. I stayed with him and he was the best doctor I had in a long time, until unfortunately he passed away. But I'm digressing, the answer is, yes, I have been disappointed when going to the doctor a few times myself. Sometimes because of my own expectations, sometimes because I felt more should be done for that specific issue. In any case hope that the spasms get better with the muscle relaxant and that soon you don't even need to take those. Hopefully he will send you to rehab soon.

That is really scary not being able to breathe. I hope that doesnt happen again to you. After I thought about it I dont think I could do rehab at this point.

I am sorry to hear that. I hope you will recover completely soon. Actually I may have an operation by the end of this month. Tomorrow I will go to see the doctor to consult about it. Hopefully everything will be better than I expect. I love China

hi terri I am glad you are healing well and hope the muscle relaxants do their job and help your neck. I cant say I have been disappointed when seeing my doctor except that I did not think these shingles would last this long. that is upsetting but thats lie I guess.

I'm sorry to hear that you still have spasms in the back of your neck, but I hope you're not in any pain...are you? I'm not much of a doctor goer to begin with but yes have been disappointed since sometimes I have to go back and rely on herbal remedies. I remember going to a foot doctor for a spell there as I was having problems...number one he suggested I take a medication but when I looked up the side effects said no thanks....side effects included strokes and heart attacks..WAS HE NUTS? The one of the problems I had were plantar warts on my soles of my feet. I kept asking the jerk are these plantar warts (I KNEW they were as I had them before as a kid)--he kept insisting they weren't..and he called himself a foot doctor??...who doesn't know what plantar warts were? I wound up just getting the plantar wart removal pads and that took care of them...
