I am just wondering how many people here on mylot add fruit to there cereal.. I was out and about picking blueberries and wanted to add some flavor to my cheerios so i went ahead and add some blueberries and it was very tasty and not to mention good... Does anyone else add fresh fruit to there cereals?

When it's around, yes. Sadly it's so expensive, and there aren't any wild berry bushes around here...

Growing them yourself is always an option as well. I have my own red rasberries and strawberries growing for my pleasure. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

hi grandpa bob, you know i was actually thinking of doing that this year myself they did have some blueberry plants at wal-mart i was going to buy some and plant them but didn't and by the time i was going too it was to late anyway.. So instead i go out in the woods and pick them by the ice cream buckets full.. I've already gotten 3 so far i've only been out twice the last time i did go out i got two buckets full and they were nice size ones as well.. compare to some years they were just tiny..

Last week my granddaughter went blueberry picking at a Pick your own blueberries and I put some in the freezer. I do take them out and add them to my Flaxseed cereal. As you said very tasty. I don't care for bananas in cereal and will just eat them. I do some times add strawberries to my cereal too.

i haven't ever really tried strawberries in or on my cereal before cause some of them are just to tangy to try and eat, but the deep red strawberries always seem to be the sweetest though.. i do have some of those in my freezer so maybe i will try that too with my cereal... thanks for the reply

I think that the smaller strawberries are the sweeter they are.

On the slight occasion that I do eat cereal, which isn't very often, I will add a banana or if I eat oats I will add blueberries.

i am not really into oatmeal or that kind of cereal i am more of a cold cereal kind of person, i just wanted to try it with Cheerios and now i am addicted and want more.. I think though it's more of the blueberry taste than really the cereal... lol Thanks for your reply!

Sometimes I do add fruit. i most typically add bannnas because that is what I usually ahve around. I think it makes your cereal healthier and especially if you have berries they are really good for you. I have the cereal now that has berries already added, but I'm sure they are not as good as the fresh ones.

hi snowy oh yes i agree i like the fresh cause they are healthier for you and fresh of course and have all the vitamins needed than the dried out fruit.. I have added bananas as well to my cereal but not often if i got other berries i am there with them instead... Thanks for your reply!

I don't always but when I have it I will add bananas, strawberries, and sometimes peaches. It also depends on the cereal. Some cereals you just don't add fruit too. Like cocoa puffs and fruit loops.

yes you can't add fruit to those kind of cereals even i don't.. I am not to big on those kind though i think cause they are just to sweet.. My son on the other hand would rather have those than just the plain stuff... Always a good thing though to try something new for sure.. Thanks for your reply!

I've never done this. It looks appealing, but I'm not a big fruit eater. I drink lots of V8 Splash juices to gain my veggie and fruit intake. But that's it basically. And plus I don't really eat cereal now that I think about it. When I do get a box it's Frosted Mini Wheats. Those taste awesome.

I really don't like cereal, but I imagine i I did like cereal, I would like it better with fresh fruit in it. No point in eating something plain when it can be made so much better with the addition o something so simple. I loe resh blueberries. I wish there was a place around here where I ould pick them, instead of speding tons of money on them a the store, when they might not even be fresh.

You can buy blueberry and strawberry plants at the stores like wal-mart but i do believe you almost need to buy them in the start of summer/end of spring so that when you plant them they have time to grow and be able to produce fruit... They usually come back every year not that i have planted any but that's what the tags say they do...

I love raisins added to my oatmeal. Strawberries, bananas, or bluberries added to cold cereal is a good taste treat for me as well. But I seldom eat brekfast though. But I do love fresh fruit added to most my cereals. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I never eat breakfast... lol i guess i am strange but I'd eat it for like lunch or supper.. most of the time though it's usually after a few hours after supper I'd get hungry so I'd just get a bowl of cereal and add the fruit to it or just plain.. sense you said raisins I love the raisin brand there is just something about that cereal that I love i think it is the raisins in there... Thanks for your reply!

I always add fruit to my cereal. Or I buy cereals with fruit already in it. For example, I like to buy Corn Flakes with berries in it. They are hard till I put in the milk and wait around a minute and then the fruit gets soft enough to eat. I also sometimes buy frozen fruit as it is usually cheaper, and just put it in the microwave for a couple minutes to defrost it, and then add it to my cereal. I also like to put a little bit of sweetner on it too, and sometimes put it on the fruit before I nuke it. I like all of the berries out and I like bananas on my cereal. But of course, no banana when I am using berries.

I don't like fresh fruit on my cereal at all, but I do like blueberry morning cereal. As appealing as fruit on my cereal may look I can't stand the thought of actually eating it that way. I am not sure why but it may just ruin the whole cereal experience for me or maybe it was because I grew up not having fruit on my cereal or maybe because I am a bit of a picky eater.

growing up i never did either, but sense living on my own for 10 years i've learned there are many different things you can do with fruit meaning adding them to things to make them taste even better.. Sure cereal can be plain sometimes like cheerios but found something that makes them taste even better and makes me want more after wards and i am never like that usually it's a small bowl and I'm full but now ha ha...

I think blueberries taste great in cereal. The other fruit I like to add are strawberries and bananas. I like it with Cornflakes, Cherrios or Chex cereal. It's best with simple cereal's instead of one's with lots of flavor. I'm sure almost any fruit would be good with cereal except tomatoes of course.

yeah tomatoes aren't the thing to add to cereals... lol i've never liked cornflakes for some reason not even when i was a kid and i refuse to even buy it, no one eats it so there isn't any sense, those will just sit in the box that's it..

When I was little I would put fresh blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries that we would pick in our yard in my cereal...and bananas were good too! I don't eat much cereal now due to my lactose intolerant issue with milk..If I do eat cereal, I feel sick afterwards for about an hour...

I normally do not add fruit to my cereal, but I will occasionally add some sliced banana. I normally add it to my Cherrios or Rice Krispies.

I like to add bananas when I have them, and if you add fruit you don't have to add so much sugar to your cereal. Unfortunately fruit, even bananas are getting expensive these days.

I don't usually add anything to my cereal but my kids like bananas cut up into their cereal. I actually have blueberries now maybe I will try it. Thanks for the idea!
